TwistedSisler
So I believe I solved the problem with my DLC's not working, but now I have another problem. With all my mods installed, the game crashes upon startup whenever I enable Archive Invalidation. If I do not use it then I can play, but obviously things are very wrong and I have missing textures and such. These are the mods I have installed. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the problem might be. This is a problem that is new to me. I think I may have installed something incorrectly by accident, but I really don't know what. I have a few non-esp mods as well to include NMC's Textures, a Pipboy Retex, random clutter textures and Idle Animations. Again: 1. Game runs fine with mods enabled and no Archive Invalidation (aside from the obvious)2. Once Archive Invalidation is enabled, the title screen flips screens once then crashes before the cursor and options come up
Fonger
Important Notes * Once you've "Activated" ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated! you do not need to keep it running to receive its effects or activate it again when adding/removing textures ect. * ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated! will set bInvalidateOlderFiles to 1, on some computers setting bInvalidateOlderFiles to 1 in Fallout 3's ini will cause the game to crash on startup, at the moment it is unknown why this happens and there is no solution yet, unfortunatly you'll have to do without ANY modified original content since bInvalidateOlderFiles needs to be set to 1 to use any. from the notes on Archive Invalidadation Invalidated

Doesn't the first statement and the second statement contradict each other, or is the first statement just saying that you can close the program after you activate it? Also, this is the first time this has ever happened to me after many installs and on the same computer. idk, I'm really not ready to give up quite yet. It means, that yeah, you can close the program once activated. And it also means, that on some PC's that won't work and you will never be able to play mods. BUT I don't think that's the case, you have lots of mods. Try (just to test) to enable just one mod and running it.

BUT I don't think that's the case, you have lots of mods. Try (just to test) to enable just one mod and running it. Here are a few things I have found out from troubleshooting. Maybe someone with more experience than me will pick up on one of these issues. - If I run the game with mods enabled and Archive Invalidation on then it crashes- If I disable all mods through FOMM except the vanilla content and leave Archive invalidation on then it crashes.- If I turn off Archive Invalidation (regardless of what mods I have enabled) then it will not crash. (but mods obviously don't work properly) - I have installed this game before many times on this computer with many mods and it has run just fine until now.- The only additions I have made to the mod list is Megaton House Overhaul and FWE, but I have double checked all the craziness as far as installation and making it compatible with FOOK2, MMM, PB, and WMK. I can't seem to find any mistakes on my part, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. - I have discovered some discrepancies in my mod list however. I did not realize that I did not need Fellout anymore because it came with FOOK2, but that should not have anything to do with my problem because I have been running them both just fine. It almost seems like I have a mod in my load order that relies on some resources that have been overwritten by another mod. That is about the only thing I can think of, but I have no way of knowing where the trouble maker is. I have literally disabled every mod one by one and the crash remains as long as Archive Invalidation is enabled. The ONLY other thing I can think of is that when I installed my game this time around, I deactivated and reactivated Archive Invalidation after every large mod and every couple smaller ones. Not sure if that would cause this issue, but again, I'm just shooting at stars here. I really do not want to have to uninstall/reinstall the game yet again, but if anyone thinks that doing so may fix this problem then I will resort to that if need be. Thanks for the help given so far and thank you in advance for anyone else willing to lend a hand with this issue. On a separate note, just to cover all my bases, does anyone know of a good (and updated) tutorial for installing all the major mods together? I run FOOK2, PB (HD), MMM, WMK, and FWE. CrusaderBin
Well, try looking at this: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10167 this: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4968 and this: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=637 You can use those to resolve some compatibility problems.Try making a merged patch and running FOMM in Master Update mode after that. Try downloading latest version of this too: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 than disable and enable it before everything else though. It wouldn't hurt to download LATEST version of FOMM too: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640 Just read description in links and some redmes in Files tab and you should know everything. Quetzlsacatanango
What version of FWE and what version of DarN? The latest version of FWE requires v11 of DarN. Is that what you're using?
