mesh editying with blender

I have tried asking a few other places and no answers yet so what I want to ask is if they is a way to remove parts of a mesh with blender?

For instance like removing the boots from the vault utility suit as they are part of the upper body mesh?

 

What I am wanting to do is take the boots from the merc charmer female version and replacing the vault utility suit's red converse with them and stuff like that.

the boots are from AEV, the suit is a retex-mod of my own;

no need to get the converse´ off, just get those boots over them :) ... i did it the same :D

but i know what u mean, of course its possible to cut off the converse, thatz what Blender is made for;

To my knowledge you wouldn't need to, atleast i didn't when i did the same with a raider mesh. Mind you although they looked ok in Nifskope and the GECK when i loaded the actually save game it CTD lol. After looking around there doesn't seem to be any tutorials on things like this only lengthy ones on static objects etc EG the infamous ashtray :P.
