RoyBatterian
OK, that makes a lot more sense now. Thanks for the clarification.
chucksteel
"DIRTY MODS!!!" Hmmm! I like "Dirty Mods!" Sorry had to but yes I did the same as Serg, I was a noob didn't know how bad deleted refs could be and spent months having to fix the issue! africaisstarving
the only things i deleted in my mod were special effects which 9000% nobody is gonna wanna edit in their mods. is like a lightbeam out of the wall or a fill light around a light bulb. nobody cares about that stuff. i deleted it to save memory . disabling seemed to sped up a bit but deleting sped up even more. not sure if disabled elements are full trully never loaded. i think they get still readied up in memory just not fully loaded. i want them to never have existed EvER in 2700 years
africaisstarving
however..deleting visible world references like rocks and items and npcs will eventualyl lead do disasters. from my experience any mod that deletes special effects has zero effect. in fact i have used 2-3 mods deleting the same fx references and nothing happened . My mod Interior Lighting Overhaul would look completely off if I didn't add or adjust light beams. My street light mod uses custom light beams, and so does my Old World Blues Path Lighting mod. Without those effects in windows or on lights the game just looks odd to me.
africaisstarving
hmm should i change from deleted to disabled? is lag hog 9000 on m system . they added 12 f*#@ing light effects on 1 lightbulb and i swaer if you remove all light effects looks like 1% less better for 50% more cpu power . I would, it's good practice to use disabled refrences over deleted. I've tried mods such as BetterGamePerformance, I could see no difference. Where are there 12 lighting effects on one bulb? I want to see this.
africaisstarving
GO to megaton moriarty's salon where Burke is beaconing and check the Fallout3.esm for glowing fill fx you will find that purple light beside him has 12 effects layers on top of each other . I removed them all and looks the same just my game doesn't lag. Talk about bad design. 13 I just counted. Although now that I think about it 7 are on the purple light and 6 are on the red light. Still. Glow fill FX you don't need 6 of them on top of each other. They also have in that same space about 4-5 light beams overlayed and there are about 60 light beams in total but only about 20 light sources. About haf that room is all fx fill light and light beams. Only one answer will please me DELETED when i see that line in FO3EDIT and i go in no lag all proper and still beautiful then I am complete. I had only recently started working on fixing the lighting for Fallout 3. I will at some point get to Moriarty's Saloon and fix the lighting issues there. I saw all sorts of duplicates in Fallout New Vegas, Interior Lighing Overhaul fixes all of them.
africaisstarving
man..if you can fix the damn duplicated will speed up the game so much . all the lags and slowdowns are the high textures and HDR caused by special fx . colored lighting does not slow down the game as much as dust and lightbeams and any other light effects do. In fact i deleted a lot of stupid effects in rivet city market . Rivet City is notorious FPS lag prostitute LOL <forum changed this automatically . So much so there are about 5 mods out there fixing Rivet City market lag issues. One of them is called Rivert City Market FPS yes. I looked at what they did and i did same thing and it works. Game so much faster now. Worst lit places in the game probably rivet city market and rivet city staircase. edit: All they did was remove usless lighting effects from rivet city and a flaming barrel all the sudden my fps went up by 10-15 Edited September 25, 2014 by africaisstarving
