SpellAndShield
I'd like to post some as a sign of gratitude to some of the modders...
LHammonds
Well, I don't have the game or the link to the how-to article but it probably requires making a small change in your INI file. But after you get it figured out, make absolutely sure that the JPG images that DA creates are edited before you upload them to the Nexus. The JPG format DA creates is a bit odd and does not work with the thumbnail generator on this site. This is easily overcome by opening it with any image editing program and doing a "Save As" and overwriting the original. While there, I'd suggest cropping the image to just what you want to show to help reduce the size of the image and thus save the Nexus some bandwidth in the process. LHammonds
It's a shame I suck so bad at computers. It's not like we are born knowing how to work these very unnatural creations. I have a masters degree in computer science and have been "in the business" for 15+ years and I know enough to know that I know very little in all that there is related to "computers"...ya know? DarkeWolf
the game's default key for taking screenshots is the prt scrn (aka print screen) key. Its usually up along the top row of keys, right after your number keys.the files are stored in documents/bioware/dragon age/ screenshotsThere's three folders inside there. User is the one where it stores the ones that you take. The other two are screenies that are automatically taken. Have fun, get some good captures

LHammonds Thanks for making me feel even more depressed about my lack of computer knowledge. Still, I live with it. When I was writing my masters thesis I had to use this programme LateX for it...and boy did it kick my ass. Some people (such as myself) have no talent for this stuff...what can you do? I have so many mod ideas as well...but zero ability to implement them.
DarkeWolf
You shouldnt feel bad about it. Theres a lot about computers to learn. It just takes time and repetition to start getting it down. Having sources of information greatly helps too. But yeah, computers operate off a whole different set of rules and languages than we are used to dealing with, in real life.I've found that the "For Dummies" series, such as Windows for Dummies (or similar) is a really good place to start to learn. They're written in plain english and try to avoid tech-speak as much as possible. And PLEASE dont take my recommendation for that, personally. Its nothing towards you, I wish they would have named those differently, as the name is just a bit insulting. But yeah... I'm even gonna get some from them so that I can learn the ins and outs of the new Office software, Office 2010. (Darn MS keeps changing stuff !!!). As far as modding goes... with THIS game... don't feel bad AT ALL. Doing mods for this game is seriously complex, and even some of us that have been doing it for years are getting stymied by this POS toolset. The way they set this game up, makes it very challenging to work with, and makes the user have to have a combination of knowledge from several different fields of computer knowledge. Yeah, I have to agree with LH, that its complex. And gets moreso with each generation of each software. I mean, I was an advanced home user and I thought that I knew quite a bit about computers. But now that I'm in tech school, I feel like a kindergardener sometimes, hahaha.
roninsoul7
I know that feeling well Darkewolf, I got my A+ certification, and I am still constantly learning more. Computer programs are evolving at an exceptional rate, when I was a kid the "new" thing was basic, a step up from punch cards. Never feel bad that you don't already know something, instead be happy that there are a ton of people around who have fun teaching others.
DarkeWolf
Indeed! Computers are a constant learning experience, as they, and software are CONSTANTLY on the evolution.Just in the time that I've been in school, the A+ has changed, the net + has changed, several of the MS certs have changed, (and not necessarily for the better!) The comptia certs are no longer lifetime after a certain point this year. So those of us who are already grandfathered in, are really, really lucky. LOL aw man, if I knew you were certified, I wouldnt have had to type out some of the things that I did in the thread about your harddrive! hahahaha
roninsoul7
@darkewolf Don't worry about it, I always assume everyone knows nothing about how their computer works, mostly because I know exactly 1 person in all my real life friends who can actually discuss bios settings without getting lost. It isn't a blow to those who don't know, I am not calling them stupid, but when dealing with something you don't understand, it's always best to use the K.I.S.S. method (Keep It Simple Stupid) a military term that has endeared me to many a person over the years. By the same token, the guy who repairs my car (my dad actually) tends to lose me once he starts talking about torque ratios, so I just nod, do what he says and hope for the best.
