Last summer I did some work on a mod for which I naturally had very ambitious plans. However, I was really turned off by the fact that GECK was buggy and very limited, and that for completely unknown reasons some of my characters' scripts (I might have had too many characters with too complex scripts) were randomly not running, which effectively ruined my plans. Today I noticed I'd still love to complete the mod, so I want to ask what has changed in a year. Has there been significant updates or bugfixes on the game or the GECK? Does FOSE have more features now? Are there any other good reasons? I am specifically interested in things related to scripting, because that's what I was mostly basing my mod on. Approximately 3.5 million people have wondered why their mods don't save when they're using Vista.30% of those also wonder why their textures flicker.GECK retains the same level of bugginess but now I can see it's crashes coming the way a 70s stewardess could anticipate an ass-pinching. Thanks for the answers, I'd love to rejoin this community. Pretty much all I know how to do is scripting with FOSE and I am having good luck with it. Been working on some mods (followers) for 6 months or so and they are getting more complex script wise. Someday I might actually finish a mod before getting bored with it and starting a new one from scratch ;) FOSE has some new functions that can deal with inventory items that have made this latest mod I am working on possible. I find that the Geck is stable for me - but I hardly do anything in the editor except place NPC's or Xmarkers, quests to run the scripts and dialog, etc. EDIT: I've had scripts halt but it's always been from forgetting to test that a reference variable has a non zero value before running a function against it. Although I'd very much have liked Beth to fix faction rank functionality, my worst problem seems to have gotten solved with this: http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1090167-really-annoying-ai-package-issue/. I have to do more testing though, but it seems there is some future for my mod - if there is, expect to see some kind of a teaser in the future. Sad but true. However, I had this slim hope that because they were still releasing the last DLC they might also have touched the mod tools. Especially because it seems that function was working well in Oblivion and was deliberately broken or disabled in FO3. Oh well, tokens, although less elegant, work fine.
