Fonger
since there are more causes to this problem than a computer science major can count on 10 fingers we must start from the beginning 1 - where did you buy your game, and where did you buy SI 2 - what country are you in 3 - where did you get the patch 4 - what patch(s) have you applied successfully 5 - you have battlethorn castle - where did you get it from (list is very limited)

Tomlong54210
Uninstall the game, reinstall and then install the SI patch (not the "Oblivion" patch.)
bben46
The Oblivion patch and the SI patch are mutually exclusive. That means they do not work together. If you have one, the other one will NOT work no matter what you do. IF you have SI. DO NOT USE THE OBLIVION PATCH. If you do. You will have to reinstall. After installing both Oblivion and SI, Then install the SI patch. DO NOT INSTALL THE OBLIVION PATCH! SI is not a DLC. It is a game upgrade and does nor work like a DLC.A DLC is just another mod that can be taken out of the game or put in. SI actually makes changes to the base game program that cannot be taken out without a complete reinstall. That is why it requires it's own patch. When you uncheck the SI.esp it really does not remove the changes. It just removes the SI gate and the rumors. Note that some pirate versions will not work with this patch no matter what you do. if you have a pirate version. You are just out of luck - It isn't going to work. Where i bought it?1 - "from the internet" - um - WHERE - is this a disk version or a download version? D2D is an internet source (download version) but the Bethesda patch is known to fail with D2D 1 - continued - is the SI version also a USA/North American version? - Hinty - they don't mix well unless they are the same versions.
