Alright. So I have a custom weapon set up - it's got a custom mesh (I got permissions to use this mesh), and I have both .nifs - the default and the 1st person, in this directory:

Skyrim/Data/Meshes/ImmersiveQuests/Bonecrusher

The name of the weapon is Bonecrusher. I renamed the original .nif from skyforgesteelmace.nif and 1stpersonskyforgesteelmace.nif to Bonecrusher.nif and 1stPersonBonecrusher.nif. The texture paths are the same as before - they point to the default steel warhammer texture. Skyrim/Data/Textures/Weapons/Steel and then steelwarhammer.dds, steelwarhammer_n.dds, and steelwarhammer_m.dds. In the CK, I have my custom weapon set up with the proper model path - Skyrim/Data/Meshes/ImmersiveQuests/Bonecrusher/Bonecrusher.nif, and the 1st person model as the static 1stPersonBonecrusher, which has the model path of Skyrim/Data/Meshes/Immersive Quests/Bonecrusher/1stPersonBonecrusher.nif. Yet, when I use the weapon in-game, it clearly has the right mesh, animations, and sounds, but it is invisible.

What have I done wrong? I'd appreciate any help with this. It's the last bug I have to iron out.

EDIT: It shows perfectly in the menu and on people, but not equipped.

Another issue I have is that I can't see anything in any of the preview windows. For example when you open up the actor window for an actor, and click full or head, it says updating, finishes, but the window stays blank. This happens for weapons, actors, and any other records that have a preview window. I've verified the CKs game cache, but the issue remains. Anybody have any idea why this might be?

EDIT: Fixed this issue, I just have to move my ENB files out of the Skyrim folder every time I start the Creation Kit, apparently. Unfortunate, but oh well.

Okay, I checked and the issue is not with the mesh itself. Even using the model path of a vanilla mesh does not work. It shows up perfectly in the menu, on the ground, and on NPC (including the player)'s hip, but it is invisible when you wield it, either 1st or 3rd person. All I did was duplicate the static 1stperson, and the weapon form of the Steel Mace, and then I changed the model paths, but the issue still persists. I really need some help here.

OK, I fixed it! Not entirely sure how... I ended up merging the mod I had permissions for with my own - only the records I had permissions to - and renaming them and changing the model paths. Pretty much what I had been doing, but this time it worked. Theirs was set up correctly, and mine wasn't, but I'm not sure how.
