Splop10
I'm in the process of trying to create my first mod, which is a sound replacer for some of the vanilla weapons. I've got the sounds working in the game, but there's no difference in volume for when other NPC's are using them (For example, my hunting rifle sounds just as loud as the raider that's shooting at me from 100 yards away). Did I mess something up? If so, is there any chance of fixing it? Thanks. David. Edited August 18, 2014 by Splop10

The_Vyper
Vanilla weapons have two sounds attached to them (found in the Art and Sounds tab of the weapon in the GECK); a sound ending in 2d and a sound ending in 3d. The 2d sound emanates from wherever the Player character is standing. The 3d sound emanates from wherever the NPC firing the weapon is standing. If the only sound attached to the gun(s) is the 2d sound (if it's the only one attached, or the same sound file is selected in both boxes), then it will always sound like it's being fired by the Player. Check out the vanilla sounds and see how they're set up, then try and apply those settings to your custom sounds.
