SHOOT I voted yes and meant no. :P

I did vote yes for a darker site, tho. :D

Anyway, forcing registration to download may piss off a lot of people, but it makes our statistics easier to manage as well as allowing us to see global likes/dislikes from the logs... it also enables us to create a targetted user-oriented start page once logged in, with possibilities for custom links to other sites, etc. I personally have modding links to other sites stored in my own personal link-box, and find it very user-friendly to log in to MWS, and have a direct portal to all of my favourite sites without having to scroll through a HUGE list of bookmarks.

Voted "NO" on the registration-thingie, even I was pissed to register at first... you know, filling in stuff, then checking hotmail to get a code or something (wich, hopefully will be send immediately... or come back in a few days lol)...

all those things I had in mind, until... just fill in a 'nick", choose a password, fill in an adress, and off you go... no need for checking whatsoever !! gj...

IF i did not have to register, I wouldnt be typing this... and even be reluctant to ask questions in the forums, because that would be "cheating" -> using knowledge and not contributing anything.

So, keep it up ! and keep the forums the way they are. better for the eyes, dont want to use sunglasses anymore to sit behind the computer... those times are in the past I hope... B)

cheers!

Do not scrap it! Like others, I've begun to use the forums because I had to register for download -- and I don't rue it.

A heretic thought: I think it gives higher image to the site, too -- as Morrowind is the queen of games, MWS deserves the solemnity to get into :D :P

I voted no as well. I think its a great idea to make people register to download. Thats how I found the forums. Register so I could download Balmora Keep <because Morrowind Files was no longer going to be updated> and was looking around the site and found the forums. Thought "Lets see if anyone can help me"; posted some comments on the whole prophice thing and bingo. I was hooked. If I didn't have to register I would off never of bothered to use the forums :D

Personally I would vote NO because every third website on the internet wants you to register with them and I'm getting really sick of having to register at every website in the world so I can get the one little thing I came there for. That being said, the registration here was painless and easy, ie no confirmation email, additional sign up offers, this that and other nonsense just so i can get my 15kb file. The one reason I could see the registration as beneficial is entirely for the sites benefit to prevent people from just linking to the files from there site creating more traffic for you without anyone actually visiting the site.
