Can a modded Skyrim be handled by the most recent AMD cards?

At some point in future I'll ditch my laptop for a more performance-heavy PC. Nowadays people say that buying an R9/R8 AMD card is more advantageous than an NVidia card when it comes to FPS and price/quality.

I see that most people who run Skyrim with a lot of mods, including visual mods and ENB, are using Nvidia cards and most of them have great performance. But how would it be if I were to use an AMD card like the ones mentioned above?

AMD Cards work fine. I use an Asus HD7770 which is an AMD chipset and I have no issues running on High with lots of mods (I could run Ultra with an FPS drop but that's just the power of the GPU). ENBoost even comes with an Nvidia or AMD version. The only real difference you're getting with Nvidia and AMD is price, physical appearance of the card, software and possibly connections (such as SLI vs. Crossfire).

Now the drivers are much improved.. The AMD GPU's are just fine.
