garycornett39
Render a tiny 32 x 32 image of your object against a black background, and save it as a 32-bit TGA image. (So that the background is transparent)This will be your inventory icon. Pop it into your Icons folder in the Data Files folder

garycornett39
you could try making the icon in photoshop and adding a transparnt background to it but im not for sure if that would work. might be something wrong with the way the files are being saved after rendering it. other then that id say it was a glitch. Peregrine
Had exactly this problem with Homeworld 2 icons. Make sure you have made the alpha channel, and make sure you're actually saving it. I use paint shop pro for 2d stuff, and the default .tga export compresses the file and does not save the alpha channel. So if everything else is done, but it still doesn't work, check your export settings.
