deRusett
The Mod Organizer model would have to be implemented into a Skyrim online client. Basically the HOST would provide the mods and a Mod Organizer client would download and implement the mods to the other players who joined the world. It would act like RTS games who have map download tools built into the multiplayer screen. The Hosting would have to be like Ultima Online was with Non approved server worlds for people to play. Those non approved worlds often had different rule sets and changes to the game play like we have in Skyrim with Skyre or Requiem, and We had that happening pretty easily back in 2002 era. The difficult part would be importing existing characters built using other mods or having equipment not included in the hosts mod list. Building the import of existing characters would be the hardest part as well as the transport of huge data between the 2 players. Skyrim is huge and if they started at opposite ends and moved toward eachother all PC's would be sending a lot of info back and forward about the world space. Data transfer causes lag. and lots of it. All this said. I too really wish I could add an Online component, as long as it was independent of the Offline mode. launching an Online client would be like playing with Alternate Start. and you wouldn't be doing the main dragon born quest, but a more free world space Edited August 20, 2014 by deRusett

Pixeldust
One of the best things about the Elder Scrolls series is that it IS single player. If I wanted to game with other people, I'd go pick my flavor of the hundreds of MMO's out there. There isn't enough decent single player games that allow the customization that Fallout and Elder Scrolls does.

Problem with so many MMO's is they have a terrible single player element, you really have 1 choice, an SP game or an MMO game online Sacred had a nice Single player game with an Multiplayer coop mode available as well. BUT Sacred lacked the crafting element, I would very much enjoy playing Skyrim as an alchemist/smithy with a friend as a Warrior or Ranger player. I hate AI followers but would appreciate being a follower healer and help solve complex puzzles.

No, you have lots of choices, and you just mentioned Sacred, that's a great game, as well as the second one, heck even Diablo 2 or 3 would suit your fancy. I don't want this thing called "co-op" in the Elder Scrolls, there are hundreds of console games that could fit that bill. What are you talking about? Sacred 1 and 2 both had a crafting element, and the company is already working on a 3rd Sacred game that would honestly be all the things you're asking for. Go find another game to fix your multiplayer urges, as the Elder Scrolls is one of the very few decent games that's only single player. The day Elder Scrolls becomes a multiplayer franchise (ESO aside) is the day I no longer wish to play it.

The day Elder Scrolls becomes a multiplayer franchise (ESO aside) is the day I no longer wish to play it. Sacred 3 is being made as a An Arcade Action game, not the RPG of the previous 2.I own both of the Sacred games and apart from adding Runes to things the crafting element is next to nothing. it is far more hack and slash which is why the 3rd has gone to pure arcade hack and slash, Like you could see how Warcraft was going to become WOW after WarCraft 3 was a RTS to RPG bridge. NOW my desire for a Co Op TES game ONLY comes as an addon to the SP mode. I much prefer SP in Skyrim and being SP, I just wish I could export my player into a new skyrim based world with a coop mode, NO lore changes from the TES game to accommodate a co op ( much like how sacred handles the co op) Because like you I do actually very much like way SP works in TES and how the lore ties in and how no one NEEDS to play coop, or heck needs a companion for longer than a quest or 2. Elder Scrolls needs to remain first and foremost a Single player RPG. but having spawnable worlds you can create via a multiplayer client to allow 2 people to play together I'd love that.
