I'm a noobtard when it comes to Cpu games, so please bare with me here! I've just installed what i believe is an older version of TES:Oblivion/GOTY and everything seems to work fine aside from the occasional crash at the beginning of the game, but as im sure everyone already knows, most of the good mods require the lastest patch for oblivion. So I need to know if I download Version 1.2.0416 without any of the previous patches will my game go haywire? Also I have the great mods "DMC Stylish", Sephs "H2H Animation", And Sephs "True Acrobatics" installed! System: Dual Processor with 2GB RAM on windows(32bit). Video Card: GT 240 Galaxy GeForce 200 Series. Please Help!!!

The patch should come with all of the previous patches, whether they're needed or not. When it installs, it will check which patch is currently installed and install only what you don't have.

It's possible, though not terribly likely, that you'll run into problems with your installed mods when you patch though. The mods were probably created for 1.2.0416, and if a file changes those mods use it can create a conflict. If it does, just reinstall the mod and you should be fine.

It's definitely worth patching though, most mods these days will assume you have that patch already installed.

Also how do you take screenshots/videos in game?

By changing some values in Oblivion.ini you can enable printscreen and take screens that way. If you want to know more, search the forums a bit. There's a pinned topic about that somewhere, IIRC.

I highly recommend getting FRAPS though. Much easier and it has a free version too.

Thank You! However, the lastest issue is of course, now that ive downloaded the patch, is that Im recieving this message " Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done sincefile contents do not match". Am I missing something?

if you have GOTY (the real GOTY) it comes with the 1.2.0416 patch

trying to patch 1.2.0416 ontop of any previous 1.2.0416 is guaranteed to fail.

so . . .

what is the current version of your game? Mine says 1.2.0416

If yours does not, 'tis long and involved to try and solve it (because there's almost an uncountable number of documented causes)- so we'll wait for you to report back.

I was honestly hoping to be enough of a tard to have over looked the fact that i have the version already, but unfortunately, I dont.. I have version1.1.425(It says the version in the read me, right?). Im going to search the net for issues with that particular version..

That is the 1.1.425 beta right? That is the version of Oblivion you get by installing the first disc of the GOTY edition. You should install the second disc, and then Oblivion will be patched to the latest version.

Hmmmm, (scratching my chin) Ive installed The second disk, which should contain Shivering Isles and the lastest patch right? I put The second disk in again and explored the files. Would the engie version be considered the patch version as well?

You can find the version by right-clicking on the Oblivion.exe file and checking its properties.
