blacksmithkazuma
Ok I play Oblivion GOTY for both 360 and PC, I use the pc for mods and such keep the 360 because of better graphics (pc doesn't do well avg 23 FPS) I just started a new char on the 360 a breton that is going to be a custom class (warrior/mage) and I know you use your major skills to level up but how does that work exactly... and is there a cap limit on the major and minor skills? I've kinda thought to myself that if I just level up all my minor skills twice or maybe even four times more then my major skills I get more points to spend on my stats when I level up from my major skills... and that is where the cap question comes in... i have read most ppl can get up only to like level 50 or so... is there a way to get beyond that or not? Here's my logic on this level up like 8 or so of your minor skills to apprentice..then work on your major skill to level up once or twice, then repeat... get it? if not please help I want to build a non-uber char but a powerful one... *Female Breton, able to use both heavy and light armour skillfully, able to handle a blade with no problems, and then able to use an mix of alteration and destruction magic as good as any archmage* ~NOTE to Admins - if there is a post out there very similar to this one please tell me and delete this one, I couldnt find it...~
Tomlong54210
With vanilla Oblivion, the PC cannot achieve a level above 21. Leveling - UESPWiki - http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Leveling#Maximized_skills

Tomlong54210
Yes, but your major skills will be nearly maxed out at that point. The default system uses major skill advances, 10 skills per level. Your 7 major skills give you a total of 700 points that could be counted toward leveling, however, you start out with at least 175 skill points. That leaves you with 525 skill points for level incrementing. (Great, I cannot do math.) That means you can advance to level 53. (Where did my head go?) Well, at least the explanation is accurate. UESPWiki - Maximum Level - http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Character_Creation#Maximum_Character_Level Edit: of course, you still have a ton of minor skills that you can increase even once you reach your max level. Keep in mind that raising any skills after reaching your maximum level will not allow you to increase your attributes. This is just the vanilla leveling system of course. yeldarb
If you increase a minor skill skill ten points, when you sleep to level-up the attribute that guides it will increase five points, but you can ONLY increase THREE attributes when you level up. The exception to this is luck which only goes up one point per level and will almost never reach one hundred with the stock levelling system in Oblivion. Alteration is an easy skill to level and increase willpower. It has many useful spells for anyone-unlocking chests, feathering, and shield spells. If youy plan it out correctly all your attributes but luck can be at 100 around level eighteen. I would focus on intellegence and willpower first as a mage due to your dependance on being able to cast spells. IF you want to achieve a high level-you will need a mod to allow it Most of my older saved characters cannot get to level fifty due to having all of thier major skills at 100.I always stop being able to level up at fourty-seven, but you might be able to hit fifty as a breton warrior.
