chaospearl
Freakin' hell... I seem to be here every other day with a new problem. My game doesn't just have issues; it has a full goddamn subscription. I know I'm famous for TL;DR so I'll try not to ramble on. I was traveling from Weynon Priory to Cloud Ruler Temple, escorting Martin and Jauffre. My game suddenly crashed on the road. I crash every few hours so this was not startling, and I started it back up. It crashed again in the exact same spot. A few trial runs reveal that it's crashing every single time I enter a specific cell on the Orange Road. I spent several hours last night painstakingly uninstalling and deactivating mods one at a time to track down the culprit. It turns out to my shock that the problem is MMM. I didn't expect that as MMM seems fairly stable and usually when there's a problem it's due to another mod conflicting with MMM, not the actual MMM mod itself. Not this time. I can move into that cell perfectly safely with no crash while running 300+ mods WITHOUT MMM. If I install MMM, bam boom bash, instant CTD upon loading the cell. If I uninstall \ deactivate every single mod I use EXCEPT MMM, so that I'm running a vanilla game plus MMM... you guessed it. CRASH! The problem is very definitely MMM. After some poking around I realized I was running an obsolete version of MMM; I had 3.5.5. I was happy to discover this because I immediately thought that must be the problem, and once I upgrade to the latest MMM, it'll go away. Ha, ha, it is to laugh. I downloaded MMM 3.7 beta3 with its accompanying really damn huge BSA and the OMOD installer TheNiceOne provided, then I performed a clean save with absolutely zero mods running. I followed the instructions in the MMM readme and reinstalled Fran's first, then the new MMM. I'm still crashing, damnit. Anyone have any advice? I can't imagine what it could be about MMM that's crashing my game in that cell. The only thing I can think of to do is open the base MMM esp in the Construction Set and see if MMM is modifying that cell somehow, adding a spawn point or whatnot. Problem is I'm not sure how to tell which cell it is. Is there a console command that lets you identify the coordinates of the cell you're standing in? All I can tell is that it's on the Orange Road between Chorrol and Bruma. The nearest map marker is the Fifth Spire from the Lost Spires mod, but that marker is still a ways distant from my problematic cell. Tom is going to tell me to post my LO, I know that, lol. At the moment, my LO consists of... Oblivion.esm and MMM. That's it. My next move will be to deactivate all the MMM optional plugin esp files and see if the problem is one of those, or if it's the main MMM esp. I figured I'd post here first and see if anyone's got some advice in the meantime. I'm sorry this was such a long post. :(

Consider a trick from Fallout3 - walk yourself near to where it crashes -> then kill yourself -> let game reload from last save -> Save again (employing programming shortcuts from the game to your advantage) -> walk back and see if it crashes again
chaospearl
Already have the UOP installed. Or did, before I uninstalled everything. It doesn't seem to make a difference if it's installed or not; I still crash when using any of my previous saves, with or without the UOP. I have made some headway however. I uninstalled absolutely everything and performed a clean save. No crashing yet. Then I reinstalled everything including MMM and voila -- when starting the game again from the clean save, I didn't crash. If I try to load any previous saves, the crash comes back, even though I'm using the exact same mod profile. Playing from the clean save works and playing from an earlier save crashes. Grrr. Fortunately I'm not too far along in the game yet so the only major problem I have with playing from the clean save is that I'll have to go all the way back to the Imperial City to re-recruit my CM Partner. I'm also losing quite a bit of mod-added inventory, but I can live with that, since I apparently don't have a choice. I just have to figure out why my character is suddenly bald with blind white eyes. I must have forgotten some textures somewhere when I reinstalled all my mods from scratch. Le sigh. I'll figure it out.
Tomlong54210
Thanks Chaospearl, haha. Actually, my first thought is that you may need to rename the MMM BSA to "Mart's Monster Mod.bsa" (to associate it with the main ESP file.) If you want to volunteer your LO, go ahead though, haha... I second installing the UOP too.

I guess the FO3 MMM is based on it. If you want to install it, follow the instructions here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24646 MMM ReadMe - http://pages.suddenlink.net/corepc/ The latest MMM Release - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17784 <-- I linked this so you could see the images and read the Nexus description.
