Favourite ending

So, this a game with several possible endings. What is your personal favourite?

IMO the best is of course, doing Morrigan's ritual and becoming the big hero at the end. With Anora as the sole queen and Loghain dead. Pretty much all of the other endings aren't very good, especially the one where your character makes the Ultimate Sacrifice. The funeral scene you get really sucks, and obviously very little effort was put into it and they just quickly slapped it together. Both Alistair and Anora's speeches at your funeral are extremely cheesey and lacking any emotion whatsoever. And although I haven't finished the game with all of the origins yet, of the ones I have, not a single one of the people from your Origin who comes expresses any sadness or grief or emotion whatsoever. Even for the City Elf, where that person is your own father.

Also, why does the funeral seen take place in the middle of an abandoned, barren field somewhere out in the sticks? Were they were too cheap to rent a proper venue in which to hold a service for the person who died to save all of their necks? And why is there such a small crowd in attendance? Gee, I'd expect to see a massive crowd of thousands at the funeral of such a big hero. Everyone was "too busy" to come, I take it?

Bleh... sorry for ranting.

I've only watched the funeral scene as a video on You Tube, but have to agree with you it looks like the funeral takes place next to the windmill in Redcliffe, not even the villagers turn out for the funeral and what a c*p ending that is, you go to hell and back and you die :yucky: who gives a monkey's what they say about you, your dead.

It would seem that is the only ending they planned for as it's the only one that has a video clip, which makes you wonder why they even bothered to put the dark ritual in and give the option of so many endings if they aren't going to stay true to them in the epilogues.

The endings/epilogues are absolute rubbish especially when you match them to Awakening. In DAO you live happily ever after as 2 GWs never leaving each others side and in DAA you bog off and disappear in to the mist for no reason, I'm assuming alone as Alistair isn't mentioned, that doesn't make any sense to me.

I only go for 3 options either go off with Alistair as GWs, marry him or be his live in lover, as much as I abhor that dark ritual thing (which I'm sure someone came up with because they have a twisted sense of humour) I'm not dieing for anyone.

my favorite ending is having Alistair as sole ruler (hardened) and my character either staying in Denirum helping him out (with her love Zev at her side) or Zev and her off training new GWs. If it's a Alistair romance it's only as a human noble...I'm not going have my girl be the hero just to be a girl on the side for anyone and I can't think of a single character that I've made that would be happy with that idea.

My favorite male ending I had was as a human noble male that had his relationship with morrigan (kissing bella and anyone else along the way) and marrying him off to Anora. (this was the only game I saved Logain because I couldn't see having Anora's daddy killed if my guy was marrying her. )

@Lehcar, you know I came to this thread with full intention of saying my favorite ending was when my girl died ... but now that I read your rant and really thought about it I can't say that anymore, lol! I do remember that I was a bit sad Alistair didn't have more feeling in his speech since he died loving me  But I don't think I really paid attention to much else ... but then I believe I finished that ending in the middle of the night so I probably wasn't too awake by that time!! :teehee:

And I want to go back and marry Alistair b/c I only did that one time on my 2nd playthrough ... and I did it soooo fast b/c I was so pissed at not getting to marry him the first time, So I don't really remember it all that much.

I did get a kick out of when Alistair married Anora once though, I laughed when, as they are walking towards the throne, he tried to hold her hand and she jerked away, lmaooo!

But oddly enough, and I do not know why exactly, but the ending with my evil chick was one I really really liked, I just loved the fact that Eamon had another child, a little girl he named Rowan  That was just so sweet and one of my favorite ending memories.

I don't really have a favourite as I have only finished the game 2 times.

Both times I kept Loghain and the first time my carta thug dwarf sent Alistair off to die...the 2nd my mage had him marry Anora...

I have a save game with an innocent dwarf noble...planning on saving just before Riordan gives the talk...and then refusing the ritual...then dying...or maybe letting Alistair die...and then going back and having Alistair shag Morrigan...

I want to try all the endings and possibilities of the game, but when I started a new character I was so deeply immerged in the story that I couldn't willingly do the bad choices... But to me the best ending is certainly being the big hero at the end, I love my first character ! Anyway, I'll try hard to make bad and different choices to see what happens or maybe I should just make a female character so I guess I won't be able to do Morrigan's ritual. Wow, thinking about it, there are still so many things I want to try ! (If ever I get time to play again)

Since the Anyone Can Marry Alistair mod, my guys always marry Big Al and become Queen. :) I haven't tired of it yet and have played through 14 times now, just finisihed off another game last night. Zevran does always stick around though, after all, he's the bed warmer.

Even though I only achieved it as an an experiment in order to answer another poster's question, and through the use of a built-in cheat, (the command console) *my* favorite ending was the one in which my HF Rogue:

a) refused Morrigan's... offer (regardless of the potential partner)

b) left Alistair at the Gates in tears as his beloved (and future Queen) was going to face the AD without him, and;

c) lived to be celebrated as the Hero of Ferelden.

How? By adding to the Party at the appropriate point a certain, previously executed individual.

Besides keeping fully in line with my PC's goody-two-shoes story line during that playthrough, I got to have Loghain die, AGAIN! ;D

Well done, I absolutely love it. Now I need a mod for spending the night with Alistair instead of sending him off with   Just one question what dialogue did you have with Alistair in the throne room, did the programming handle it all OK?
