Favourite Origin to play with

What is your favourite (and least favourite) origin to play through the game with?

Deff. my favourite... well I can't really pick just one. I like them all, but I think it's a tie between the Dwarf Noble and Dwarf Commoner origins. Playing through the game as a dwarf is just so cool and interesting, and it makes your character special since there are not many dwarves on the surface, and people respect you. And it doesn't matter which of the two you pick, because either way, you get a very very cold and unwelcoming reception upon returning to Orzammar later on, because pretty much everyone there hates your guts for one reason or another... though the Dwarf Noble does get what is by far the longest, and in my opinion the most interesting origin story out of them all.

My least favourite is definitely the Dalish Elf origin. Mind you, it's not because I don't like the origin story, not at all. It's because all of the individual origin stories, and the choices you made during, will have some unique impact and significance in the story later on - except the Dalish Elf. Mainly because the Dalish tribe that you encounter later on isn't even yours, and so none of the characters from your origin ever make a reappearance. Oh, and even though the fact that you're a Dalish does get acknowledged by other characters a couple of times, you pretty much get treated the same as a City Elf. :pinch:

Fav is dwarf commoner, least is mage simply because I don't like playing as a mage.

For my fiance, her fav is city elf, so she can whip up on Vaughn, and her least is dwarf commoner (figures) because she says it's too depressing.

I think there was a thread like this a while ago, but psh I want to comment again!

I am NOT a dwarf fan, but I think the dwarf origins are two of the best in the game. Mainly the commoner one since it is beyond epic and amazing to go from the slums to standing before the crème de la crème of society as the greatest warrior they have! Just so powerful when you whip off that helmet and the camera zooms in on your face - amazing.

Then I have to say the best is the City Elf, just so amazing how you, as a nobody, can take revenge on a human for killing and harming those you love. You infiltrate a royal home and slaughter them all like the dogs they behave as - you can't get much better than that! Plus all the loot you pick up, that shield you get is amazing with it's high stats!

My least favorite is the Dalish Elf, I can't stand the Dalish for some reason that I honestly cannot explain. The only thing I like about that quest is that 1)You get infected by Darkspawn and are dying, therefore you have to become a Warden to live 2)The merchant is very cool to have. You get a lot of loot in that origin and why in the world do other origins not have merchants? I would really love to have that in every origin story.

My favorite is Dalish Elf. I just love the way they live, hunting and everything.

Second favorite (but very close to being a tie with my first favorite) is City Elf, for similar reasons elooocin has given.

My least favorites are both Human Noble and the Mage Origins. I just don't like the Mage start at all, and Human Noble is pretty piss-poor in terms of the story.

My favorite is the City Elf (male) because you get to save the women, kill all the bad guys, escape marriage, escape getting tortured and executed, give the finger to the guards on your way out of the city and then wonder if the PC and Shianni had a little something going on the side :whistling:

Least favorite is Circle Mage, it is just too much running around and not enough action plus that whiny Jowan, they should have made him tranquil years before (if only for the peace and quiet.)

Mainly because the Dalish tribe that you encounter later on isn't even yours, and so none of the characters from your origin ever make a reappearance.

Actually I think the Dalish origin story and the resulting end work better if the Dalish elf sacrifices himself/herself. Then your tribe gets to reap your rewards. I never sacrifice myself so I don't care.

I use the All Origins Playable by noob so I get to mix it up a bit. I usually play as a male elf because the better sex cutscenes are so awesome with a male elf and Zevran (NOT submissive Zevran!) and I play as a mage. So most of my origins are either Dalish or City Elf although I feel the Dalish origin works better for an elf mage out of the circle. And I think my petite elven males look so cute with Alistair, and I like the line where he says he is in love with you "especially because of that" meaning that you are not human.

To play it straight, once in a blue moon I'll make a human female mage for that origin story just so I can kiss Cullen. I have an improved face mod for him and like looking at him in game so I do make a female mage once in awhile for that kiss and to hear his confession during the Broken Circle quest. You've gotta have Zevran with you for the full fun factor when you hear his confession. If you have that mod and play as an elf female mage, you get more than a kiss, you get a dark cutscene having sex with Alistair, it's a hoot but I like the kiss better. Cullen is a very dutiful templar. :D

I also play the human male noble a lot (as a mage) to get in bed with Dairren, I have a face mod for him also that I need to get uploaded but I'm still tweaking it out so I do play that origin a lot. I also feel justified killing Howe in the end, it just has a lot more meaning for me, and when I meet Nathaniel in Amaranthine. So all in all, my favorite origins are human male noble, male Dalish Elf and human female mage origins. All mages/rogues--I use the runscript addtalent 4020 cheat to open locks and deactivate traps. ;)

city elf female is my favorite. I guess dalish would be my least, but it's just because it seems so rushed.
