mgs3snake6
Recently i cleaned out my PC's compressed old files, and apparently a file called xlive was a part of it, and because that is gone I cannot launch FO3 anymore. I have tried using steam to validate the files, but it hasn't worked, and it continues to show the same error message. I know there is a mod on here to disable the need for windows live, so if I were to download it, would it help me and allow me to play again? and if not could anyone provide any additional suggestions to fixing the problem?thank you in advance

Fonger
not yet, I'm waiting to see if some one will tell me whether or not it will do anything before I actually download it, and save myself some timeyou've been waiting for over half an hour you are not saving yourself any time and only a steam user who had the exact same problem could possibly tell you if it works and a non-steam player could never tell you so you have greatly limited your sample audience waiting on that small group for someone who had deleted their live dll
mgs3snake6
well, I'm pretty limited on free space atm and I want to be sure that I wouldn't be downloading something that would just be a waste of space, and then I'd have to delete it if it doesn't work which would probably take longer than half an hour at this point, and also don't be so hostile to others, I mean come on, so what if I use steam, it probably doesn't effect the way to solve the problem that much, and even then I can still access any necessary files through the my computer spot, even though for some reason steam doesn't replace the file I need even though it will replace all of the other files. I don't know maybe it has something to do with it being a windows live application.
Quetzlsacatanango
Reinstalling GFWL would almost certainly work. Using the fake xlive.dll from FOMM would probably work too.
