rez194
Does anyone out there know if it is possible to get a Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 to work correctly with Oblivion? It works flawlessly except that I can't look around. I thought it might be an issue with the right thumbstick, so I swapped the controls and the right thumbstick moves my character around but the left thumbstick still won't look around. I've already tried unplugging all other devices that could or really couldn't cause any interference and nothing changes. I also changed the oblivion_default.ini to reflect as follows: ;X = 1, Y = 2, Z = 3, XRot = 4, YRot = 5, ZRot = 6iJoystickMoveFrontBack=2iJoystickMoveLeftRight=1fJoystickMoveFBMult=2.0000fJoystickMoveLRMult=2.0000iJoystickLookUpDown=5iJoystickLookLeftRight=4fJoystickLookUDMult=0.7500fJoystickLookLRMult=0.7500 Still no changes. Does anyone know for sure how to make this controller work? If I'm wasting my time and need a different controller, what kind do I need that you know for sure will work? Thank you in advance for any responses.
rez194
Update: I realized I changed the Oblivion_Default.ini but not the Oblivion.ini, so I changed it to reflect the same as the default. Now I can look around but not move, or move but not look around, depending on whether the controls are swapped around. No function on right thumbstick whatsoever now, but atleast I've learned that my game doesn't have some personal vendetta against the ability to survey one's surroundings... That was a very risky action to take. That file generates your Oblivion.ini, so if any of your changes are improper, you no longer can generate a fresh 1.2.0416 INI file. You'll have to reinstall the game to get it back, unless you made a copy... Make sure "bUse Joystick" is set to 1(in the "oblivion.ini")
rez194
I learned early on in my modding endeavors to always make a backup before making changes to anything. That almost goes without saying lol but thanks for the heads up, friend. I found a way around the whole issue though. I downloaded ControlMK and used it to map the mouse movements to my right thumbstick. Now I'm using JoyToKey to fine tune and make more elaborate command configurations. Everything's working brilliantly. I wish I had done this earlier lol Another mystery solved :)
