iXenite
UPDATE: I have decided to just buy a nice prebuilt PC and upgrade it whenever I feel that it needs to be upgraded, disregard the rest of this post - it is no longer valid. Hi everyone. I'm new to this PC thing - and I would greatly like to upgrade and get a gaming PC. However, I don't know too much about building one. I have used the site PCPartPicker to put together a build, and I think it's fairly solid. What I am hoping to achieve is a gaming rig that can play games like the Elder Scrolls Series, Fallout (3 and New Vegas), Mass Effect (Trilogy), and Dragon Age (Series) all on Ultra Settings. It wouldn't hurt to be able to play games like the Witcher 2 on High, or at least acceptable settings - but it's not required. My main priority is to get the other games running. But I digress, I wish to play those games on Ultra with mods (nothing crazy like 4K textures, perhaps 1K and some other immersion mods). Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out. Here is my concept build: CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid Motherboard: Intel DB85FL Micro ATX LGA1150 Memory: Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Storage: Western Digital WD Blue 1TB 2.5" 5400RPM Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 270X 4GB DirectCU II Case: Thermaltake Urban T31 Window ATX Mid Tower Power Supply: XFX 550W ATX12V / EPS12V Optical Drive: LG UH12NS30 Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy Rx Case Fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM 55.0 CFM 120mm OS: Either Windows 7 or 9 (if 9 turns out to be actually good) Also, a link to PCPartPicker.com - if you wish to see my build on their list:http://pcpartpicker.com/user/DadddyDirection/saved/Dhwypg Edited September 13, 2014 by DaddyDirection
