If the tentacles are made to be pushed out further to be seen while wearing armor and such, it will look odd when no clothing is on...as if it is draping over thin air. And not all armor/clothing is spaced the same so some will clip, others will look good and yet others may have it look like it is floating in thin air again. Facial animations might be problematic as well depending on implementation. LHammonds Posted May 23, 2010 Share Posted May 23, 2010 Here are the tentacles (NIF, Texture DDS and Normal Map DDS and Paint.NET source image for the UV Map) The DDS files are purely to allow you to add it in-game and test it out and not to be taken seriously. ;) The weight painting is complete guesswork. If you create a plugin, attach the NIF to the teeth for a new race and send it back to me with a savegame (hopefully not dependent on anything else other than the plugin you created), I can further tweak the rigging if needed. I think that it will look a bit odd during animation no matter what. If it is stiff like a board that follows the head, it will clip through just about everything. If parts are weighted to the spine, it will stretch oddly when the head moves around simple because it is so long. It is going to be a tradeoff no matter what (which is probably why Bethsoft did not create beards)...you just need to try it out and see what you like and what you don't. Right now, it is simply a "bone weight copy" of the head and chest of the Oblivion body. LHammonds Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
