Removing Glossy Effect from Retexture

I'm trying to re texture a few weapons created by someone else and add them into my mod.Yes permission has been granted. The weapons are all melee blades. I'm adding there meshes and want to change the textures to rust but I cant get rid of the glossy shine on the blades. They used the combat knife (I'm guessing) as a base for there model, as it shows up in the tex in nifskope.

Under the BSS area where you can change the textures there are 6 areas to use. The problem I'm having seems to be from the second to last one. Because they used the combatknife it is being used to add the shine to the blades. I can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried using my texture in its place, and a few others but I still get the lacquer finish on the blade. My textures are appearing but have that sheen shine over the rust which kills the whole purpose of having a rusty looking blade.

If you look up combat knife and tire iron in nifskope and looks at the BSS properties you'll see the difference as tire iron only has 2 textures being used.

A point in the right direction would be appreciated as I'd like them to look a little better before moving on to finishing up and releasing.

Thanks in advance.

If it is anything like Oblivion NIFs, it may be the name of the material as well as how the texture is applied.

Read this tutorial to see if reversing these settings will do it for you: Reflective Metal
