Arena, unusual bug

I just made a new character and went to the arena, to get some starting money, on a new save. When i advanced to myrmidon, i picked up my reward, but when i spoke to owyn again he just gave me a new reward gratualating me one more time for beating my opponent. In other words the quest never advanced, and the same dialouge line was execute again again, resulting in the same script, without advancement, so i am simply stuck, and unable to complete the quest line. I have quite a few mods on my computer, but non of them is supposed to alter the arena gameplay. Does anybody know any mods that indirectly alter the arena quest, or perhaps a setstage command or something that advances the quest?

How did you get your copy of oblivion? If it was a download from a website then updating or installing a patch might not fix it.

Quest stages can be found on each individual quest page. First, select the quest you want to change in your journal. Use the SQT ( Show current quest ) command to see the quest id, then use the getstage command to see the stage. Usually you add or subtract 10 to change the stage, but there are exceptions.

Thanks. I maybe have to use that. The only problem is that the arena questline, technically doesn't advance after each opponent. Or does it, just that it doesn't show for the player? Do i have to skip everyone until champion?

Install the UOP to prevent this bug in the future.

BTW. The UOP dosent actually fix this bug. As a mather of fact I think that there is one of my mods that causes it. Does anyone know how to skip to the next dialogue, and/or how to find the id of owyns dialogue.

That Arena (Faction) page did not have the quest stage advancement commands you need? The only other way I can come up with for finding those it to look in TES4Edit. Where are you, exactly?

After picking up the reward after the second opponent, the dialogue quits advancing, and talking to owyn again simply makes me pick up the same reward again. This is during the first quest stage (10). The next stage however is when your about to chalenge the grand champion, but feeding this into the console wont update any dialogue.

The lines that owyn eternally keeps saying is: "Okay so you did it again. What do you want from me, a hug? Take your gold and get out of my face, pitdog!" Giving me a new set of 50 gold. I dont know wether this might help you searching through dialogues or scripts or something

You should be at stage 20.

 

 

Edit: The quest is ArenaDialog and the stage should be 20. The UOP fixes a bug with this quest, but not at the stage you are at...

 

Edit: Try setting the stage to 20 if it is not already there.

 

Edit: I guess you were talking about the actual "Arena" quest, which only has a stage 10. Where are you in the ArenaDialog quest?
