Can't Leave The Sewers

I made it through the sewers to the gate leading to Cyrodil. When I click on the gate, I get the "I cannot go that way. I must turn back." message and it brings me right back to the gate again. I've tried changing the 'bEnableBorderRegion' entry in the My Games/Oblivion/Oblivion.ini file to 0, and still nothing. I also tried LostInGeneral's Border Removal .esp and that didn't work either. Using the coe command in the console brought me to the area I selected, then in a few quick seconds, the message would come back and I was at the gate again. I posted this in the TES forums but after a few suggestions, i'm still stuck. Someone had mentioned that it could be a conflict with the 'Stirk' mod i'm using, but I actually haven't tried disabling it yet (Why? I don't really know..). Well, if you wanted to just skip it, why not use the consoles moveto <RefID> to warp out of the sewer. You'll probably have to use the console command setstage <questid> <stage> to move up in the quest, or simply completequest <questid> to finish it all together.

since this issue doesn't happen in the vanilla game - 'twood be a game killing bug that would force Bethesda to issue a patch

 

it must be a mod problem

 

Now looking at your mod list

Don't think items 5 and 6 are designed to play together

 

and methinks you need to run that load order through BOSS

(found on tesnexus)

This might also have something to do with your ini - try deleting your ini (documents/my games/oblivion)

The game will auto-replace it when you play again.

But dude, you should run your load order through BOSS from time to time - and as dashman said, number

5 and 6 probably do the same and might cause some serious conflicts

Someone actually told me that disabling the borders in my Oblivion.ini would do the trick, but I initially had the entries wrong. It's working now after adding them. Still not sure what was causing the problem though. I have been runnning BOSS, and it didn't mention anything about 5 & 6 conflicting with each other. I think 6 is just there to assist OOO with compatibility. I used TheNiceOnes' omod download helper thing, which helps with installing the 3.73b version of MMM. It included that .esm on it's own, so I would assume it's supposed to be there. I actually just looked at the 2 .esm's and found the MMM for OOO is 452 kb and the MMM. esm is 3559 kb, so it looks like it's just a supporting .esm. As far as editing my character, I didn't even try.

That's because they are meant to be used together as you've discovered. You're absolutely right.
