Arefu problem - Fixable with console?

I finished the blood ties quest (family friendly) then installed Arefu Expanded mod. A few days later I returned to find something must have attacked and the original Arefu denizens (non-essential) were dead. No biggy I thought and chucked them over the bridge (I was done with them anyway). But now The Family is hostile. I resurrected the dead, but still I have the blood ties quest variables "ArefuDead" and "IanDead" set to 1. Is there anyway to change the value of these variables to 0 using the console - will that even solve the problem if I can - or do I have to reset and redo the quest?

Kivan had a field day looking into caravan traders and their scripts

 

you'll find that the "dead" variables in this game are permanent.

 

so its time to either reload a previous save or abandon this section of the quest

So dead is permanent eh? Who knew! I guess by resurrecting them I just created a bunch of the living dead - that's worse than vampires! Oh well....this just means I can't sell bloodpacks or trade with Karl. Guess I'll just go wipe out the family and take their stuff.

Thanks for letting me know these quest variables can't be changed.
