I just installed FOSE and it has been down hill ever scene. i reinstalled the game twice, i reinstalled FOSE, i reinstalled almost every mod i have, I disabled all my mods, and it still doesn't work. I'm running Windows 7 64bit, the game isn't installed in the default directory. The game has been working flawlessly (except the normal crashes) for along time. Now the game crashes about 2-3 seconds after running the game, just the loading screen and crash. I noticed that if i turned off the "ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa" the game would work fine except all the textures for the DLC wound be screwed up including the Item Icons.I would fire a gun that i got of "20th century weapon mod" and the thing would change from leather pants, to dirt road to... a purple pink color... I've been trying to fix this thing all night and I'm about to give up please help...

I had similar sort of problem with the textures and crashing.

This solved the problem for me:

1.) Start FMM

2.) Config all Graphics to lowest possible, turn off V-Sync etc and lower resolution.

3.) Start FOSE from FMM

4.) Load game

5.) Make normal save

6.) Quit

7.) Restart FMM

8.) Config Graphics settings to what you like

9). Start FOSE

10.) Load the saved game and enjoy.

And maybe you should move [X] BDUPack.esm under [X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm?

i don't think this has anything to do with saved games. the game crashes before the main menu when i have the "archive invalidation" turned on. if i don't have it on i works fine except all the DLC textures are screwed up. I just tried getting rid of FOSE and running it normal. The game still crashes with the "archive invalidation " turned on. Sarry about the confusion.

and now for the bad news

ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated! will set bInvalidateOlderFiles to 1, on some computers setting bInvalidateOlderFiles to 1 in Fallout 3's ini will cause the game to crash on startup, at the moment it is unknown why this happens and there is no solution yet, unfortunatly you'll have to do without ANY modified original content since bInvalidateOlderFiles needs to be set to 1 to use any.

thanks Quarn for that piece of modding history.
