hiamei
I've got Oblivion fully updated, the Oblivion Mod Manager set to Archive Invalidation Redirect, and have all of the mesh fixes extracted into the armor folder. A giant yellow exclamation mark appears in place of all of my shields (on NPCs as well, including goblins) None of my additional mods change the stock shields. If I delete the armor folders (like the "iron" folder, for example), the armor goes back to vanilla without any problems. If I put slof's (shiny silver) shield.nif into any of the folders, the meshes are fine, though they're all the shiny silver shield mesh. It's only when the shield.nif is missing that there's a problem, but none of the shields were supposed to be remeshed.
yeldarb
Have you tried the conflict detectors in OBMM? Posting your mods/load order also helps myself and others trying to help you.A screenshot is worth a thousand words. Roberts is not the reason your shields are <!>
hiamei
My list is as follows: oblivion.esmmalebodyreplacerv4.espphvanillaeyesaddon.esppegasus_alpha.espc_dagcol.espadvent children tsurugi.espslof's oblivion robe trader.espshdw_armor set_sotonhorian.esprobert blackluster.esptyrael armor.espnexonsarmoryENG.esp The ones showing up red are the body replacer, eyes addon, and the robe trader. Each just claims an issue with races and with the NPC LucienLachance. I don't know if that helps at all... as far as a screenshot, i can't get one yet, but I can tell you that I've dropped an iron shield on the ground and it appears as a giant exclamation point, no mesh or anything. The same happens with npc's; there is no shield at all, the NPCs are in tact and just run at me with a glowing exclamation point.
yeldarb
I don't know what c_dagcol.esp does. You have a small enough mod list to try and deactivate each mod one by one, but you can also play with the load order too.
hiamei
So, I deactivated each mod one by one, then, for the heck of it, I deactivated ALL of them, and every time i ended with no meshes for the shields. However, as long as there are no special armor folders for the stock armors under meshes in the data folder, I have shields. I think that the game must somehow be reading these folders and expecting meshes for every item pertaining to the armor; this would include a shield if I had meshes for a shield. Unfortunately, i have no such thing. If you get rid of any of the .nif files in these folders, the mesh appears in the game as an invisible item, rather than the vanilla standard. LFact
Any clothing/armor replacer would not touch shield mesh, and all vanilla meshes/textures are packed into .BSA files, so there's no chance with messing them unless you're fiddling with those BSA files. Well, how about try installing 'ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated', so you don't need to mess with ArxhiveInvalidation.txt, and see?
hiamei
Gah! Brilliant!! Thanks so much. I was in a room full of people I had slain and suddenly what was once a bunch of giant glowing exclamation points was replaced with a rain of shields! Thanks again. This was so helpful!!
