help - missing hair and massive lines

Erm... hi guys

 

I having problems with oblivion , erm i get hair missing of off my charcters and other heads and massive lines coming out of me and other NPCs and i dont know if it is scratches n the disc that is causing it or not..... can anyone recommend a mod that can help with this

Ehm, this is getting common. There are specific forums for the games with their own support sections. This is the feedback of the sites and forums in general :smile:

Not about the games themselves.

 

A mod would probably worsen things. Take a look at thisif you think your disk is failing you. But normally it would give errors at an install and if you didn't face the troubles before on the same installation...it's likeable that just some settings/mods meddling with your characters.

I modified your topic title to actually be useful for attracting the "right" attention. If you cannot convey the gist of what you are saying in the title, most people will never click the title to see what is inside.

 

Also, I seriously doubt a scratched CD has anything to do with the problems you mention. Once Oblivion is installed, all the resources are being pulled from the BSA files (on your computer).

 

Sounds like you installed a cosmetic mod or two that goofed up the settings.

if you are using any mods have you made sure you have all the requirments for them? such as latest version of OBSE or lastest patch for oblivion, if it continues doing problem, try to disable the mods and run the game again.

Also using Wrye Bash is a great way to see what is missing

I have unchecked all the mods and reinstalled the game and still it happens , any more ideas???

also it isn't only the people , it is the main game menu and the stats/items/spells menu as well they go all fuzzy with lines going across them ???????

i got another idea, by the way sorry for the delay, maybe your graphics driver arent updated to the latest version? do you see other glitches in other game too?

If yes try re installing the driver, you can find the latest one on the website of the manufacturer.

Last thing, open your computer and dust it out, also unplug the video card with care, dust out the slot and plug it back in.

 

P.S: Make sure your pc is switched off first :thumbsup:

hey thanks man ... i installed another n-vidia driver , and it worked fine along with two other games which had the same problem.

p.s sorry for the long reply aswell been doing exams sooo anyway cheers
