Invisible Armor

I have a problem, a friend and i made a custom model for Fallout 3 (A brotherhood scribe robe with some of the armor from the armored vault suit on it) but i can't seem to get it to work in-game (though it looks fine in nifskope). I've searched around, and heard that it is usually a problem with normal maps, but i'm not sure that is what i'm experiencing.

 

We tried a few things, i'll list them here.

Tried importing a static mesh into blender, then exporting it, no changes made, it worked fine.

Tried the same thing using an armor mesh, turned invisible.

Tried deleting and rerigging the armature, no change.

 

Also when you look at the model in the viewer on the model selection screen, it looks like black bits of geometry are appended to the camera, though when you turn the camera they disappear.

 

If it is a problem with normal maps, i have no idea how to fix it (this is my first attempt at changing a game model in any way.) so if anyone could direct me toward what i'm doing wrong and let me know how to fix it, i would be greatly appreciative.

most of the object/armor problems (invisible, crashing game, f***** up mesh etc...) are related to various software versions of your modding tools.

I was having the same problem till I installed these:

try it. works for me.

 

In the import/export option panels everything is set to default. and it works like a charm.
