Game Freezes

Sometimes, when i am in combat and i swing my sword or cast a spell, the game just totally freezes and i have to Control-alt delete quit it...

 

I've heard that it's because of sound issues, can it be that?

if you suspect this to be the cause

 

disable sound in the oblivion.ini in your game saves area.

All sound? i thought it had with sounds issues, and that it could be solved with some mod disabling footsteps or something like that... can't remember though

disabling the sound would tell you if you're on the right track

 

of course if you remember how you disable sound

 

you can re-enable it afterwards

Yeah, but i was wondering if this was a common issue or so, and if there is any usual way to fix it?

 

Or is the sound the only known cause to this problem?

Gonna try this solution tomorrow, and post up the result
