Oblivion Patch Wont Install

Every time i try to install on an oblivion patch it gets to about 13% and says there is something wrong with the file, (look at the screen shot for better idea). I have tried all currently released patches for oblivion. It is installed in english, i use windows 7, i dont have any expansions installed (and no i did not download the shivering isles patch), i followed the nexus guide to install the patches (did not install into the suggested folder when you install the game) there are no other mods installed. Basically it is in an un-modified state.

 

One more note, when i run the patch.exe it says the file has been modified and will need like 20 minuets to complete i think this is odd cos it hasn't been modified at all.

 

And yes i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling again.

 

If anyone has any idea's they would be greatly appreciated.

A: I installed it from the Australian Version of the game via the CD not steam or anything like that. Btw while im on the topic i downloaded the files from TESNexus.

Some fool shipped the wrong English variant once.

your next course of action

 

completely uninstall the game

 

install the disk - if windows7/vista DO NOT install to the default location

 

then install the patch

 

if that doesn't work, try the other english patch

 

add no steps to this procedure whatsoever

 

with the possible exception of a true cold boot between any/all steps

I did the same , started with the UK version and it said the file was not found blablabla.

So i got the English version and it patched up nicely and so.

But now i cant play it :s Everytime i try to start Oblivion it just crashes.
