Missing Meshes

I've lost the meshes for vanilla Oblivion after dl'ing a Texture mod. I am aware this is most likely my fault.

 

I've tried reinstalling the game, making a new character, re-downloading the texture mod, extracting the .bsa meshes from vanilla oblivion to the meshes folder, and removing the texture mod.

 

Anyone know the correct way to resolve this?

1 - don't unpack BSA's unless you are making a new mod that requires access to those files

 

2 - when you uninstall - delete any surviving folders your oblivion directory

 

3 - if you have no other mods installed - oblivion does not come with an texture/mesh folders - so cheat and delete these
