Red triangles exclamation points...

Hello,

First I know that missing texture (from what I've read on the matter so far) is the cause for the red triangle with the exclamation point. So this is how my problem began. Had a fairly heavy modded game which worked well with almost no problem. Have the standard stuff that GOPHER recommends on his vids. Got them in order just like the vid series says etc... I other word ... It was a good modded game, until.... I changed 2 things last Friday, I decided to....

A) install Lucky 38 suite reloaded ( nearing new vegas with my companions)

B)change the mod setting for Wasteland Flora Overhaul from

Fertile Wasteland (which I installed with the antialiasing and Multisampling patch) to

Dead version.

Then the problems with the red triangles started and s#*!... Also, niner seems to have been broken cause I follow him to the vault 21? Where he took off and when I got reunited with him, I can see the wheel command menu but if I ask to look at inventory, nothing happens. Also since I have the

Companion control mod, my 4other companions show up on the HUD but Niner does not..... And he's following me around still....

So I am guessing that one or both of these actions caused the game to be unstable in terms of texture missing... Haven't had a CTD yet!, I tried to correct this by:

Uninstalling ALL my visual mods.

NMC

Poco Bueno

And this Wastland Flora Mod

And reinstalling them in this order

NMC

Poco Bueno

WFO

I do not have enb installed or FONV Redesigned 3

Other mods installed

Companions

Sunny

Ede

Willow

Niner

Boone

Mod characters weps etc

Project Nevada

Nevada skies

Dyan vision

WMX

EVE

WRP

FCO

ElectroCity

Wasteland clothing Hires retexture

Type 3 body replacer

The patches needed YIP included

Quest and adventure add ins

Awop

Bounties one and two

Inheritance

And a lot of weapon mods like

Ak's

M4's

Etc....

and all the obvious HUD mods and modding tools like nvse nv edit etc... Also have patch for compatibility following Gophers instructions...

I am around lv 20 and adventure more than follow the game time line.

I have but tried most everything that I can think of even by saving a "clean" save and reloading... Game will play problem free for awhile until I fast travel to somewhere I've been and more times than not, red triangles pop up.... So ...

What' else can I do? Help pls...

I have archive invalidated on and off every single mod so I've covered that too, I think

I'm thinking it's NOT a mod problem but maybe a save file problem because the saves I use was saves from when before I changed wasteland overhaul mod?

If I start a fresh new game using his mod setup now that I've changed and cause red triangles to pop up, will I still have problems?

Do I need to do a comple er ease (again!!!) and start from almost scratch?

Thanks

Aji

The game starts to behave this way when you've gone past the mod limit (around 128-140 esps/esms). I had the same issue last week but everything went back to normal when I brought my load order down to 126. Keep in mind you might be able to handle slightly more or less (you'll just have to test and see). Texture mods won't have much if anything to do with what you're experiencing. Remember to make a clean save when installing new mods into an existing game.

Thanks for the reply. I used fnvedit and loot. Just saw that I have 143mods installed. That could be the issue... A stated above, before i added Lucky38 and changing the WFO from furtile to dead, I had 142 mods and the game played without a single issue. (Toon is about lv20ish so the game modded this way has been played for a couple of hours already with no issues). When I installed the Lucky 38 and changed the WFO setting, then the red triangles started appearing, even when using a "clean" save. So I uninstall and reinstall as described above. Even manually reinstalled the textures for NMC and POCO Bueno. The game now play normally but from time to time, specifically when I fast travel to the opposite side of the map... When the screen reloads on the place where I FT, sometimes the textures would go weird and sometimes red triangles would pop out. I would then save (I use CASM) even with the textures all messed up quit reload the save file with the messed up textures and when the game loads.... Textures are fixed and game moves on normally until the next texture funky attack.... The I just save, quit reload. Funky huh? Anyone else have seen this happen? Maybe I should uninstall some mods and bring it down to 130ish... Hummm... The guns, will uninstalling some gun mods a good idea? I just plan to uninstall the gun mod that I actually don't have in my inventory yet. Or do I need to uninstall a game changing mod say like better companions or quest mods or map mod?

The game is playable... But I don't want to deal with the fact that after a really heavy encounter and my texture gets messed up, that there is a possibility that when I reload, the textures might still be corrupt..... So any ideas?

And about AInvalidate, I use the one build in the NMM. It's set to AI. Do I still need separate AI mod? (I don't think so but I am open to suggestions)

Thanks

Oh one more thing, does hardware have anything to do with "mod limits" or is the recommended/suggested limit doesn't have anything to do with PC specs?

Running

I7 3770k

Asus sabertooth mb

16gb

Samsung evo Ssd 128primary drive

Samsung evo ssd 250 data drive

Samsung evo ssd 250 data drive

2x 7870 asus vid cards

Win8.1 64

Thanks

I don't think it matters what kind of mod it is, it's about how many the game engine has to read. It might have a bit to do with something else but who knows. Bring your load order down to under 135 at least. If you want u can use the TES5Edit script to merge some mods so you don't have to uninstall any. Your hardware is OP lol.

I do use tes5edit as well... And have the merge patch as instructed by Gopher in his vids. And I have started taking mods off. Down to 141 lol... Still trying to take some more out and yes the game now feels somewhat more stable. Less texture glitches now....

.. And what does "your hardware is OP mean?

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't mean a merged patch I meant this mod (which works for FNVEdit just follow instructions). It's so easy to merge mods it's not even funny, but you need to know the basics of FNVedit to fix anything the merge script misses (if it does miss records). Read the guides and it's a cakewalk. By OP I mean "Overpowered" lol.
