Fallout NV has stopped working as soon as I launch it. Help!

So I got Fallout New Vegas GOTY edition as a gift a while back. I played a few hours of it and said:

"Meh, my PC lags like s*** with mods. Let's build my new system as it's time for an upgrade and run Fallout NV with mods on it! "

And so I did. Except Fallout NV never really ran with mods. I can't get it to launch without going " Fallout NV has stopped working ".

I used NMM at first, which gave me application errors. After reading NMM is the worst tool for Fallout NV I used FOMM. No applications errors, FNVedit says everything works and my mods installed correctly.

So what's the problem?

I didn't go over the top, I heard the mod limit was something like 128. This is 23, it can't be crippled already. Can someone please tell me what's going on and how to fix this? I'm getting desperate.

Before anybody asks, I have reinstalled about 3 times with no luck.

Yes, I did also clear out the things Steam doesn't automatically uninstall.

No, I didn't download free RAM. That's physically impossible.

TL;DR My Fallout New Vegas is cocked up.

Project Nevada requires New Vegas Script Extender, do you have NVSE correctly installed? I would also recommend installing The Mod Configuration Menu, it allows you to change settings for Project Nevada to your liking.
