OBSE breaks my graphics

I'd been trying to get HDR+AA working in Oblivion for hours, until by chance I started up Oblivion with the Oblivion.exe instead of obse_loader.exe, and it finally worked! But now I'm stuck with the problem that if I use OBSE I have no anti-aliasing. And I like OBSE. Help?

Specs:

i7 920

HD5870

4GB ram

Windows 7

updated and all that

Oblivion does not truly support HDR+AA in-game, and the in-game AA is not great, anyway. Turn on HDR, and then turn on AA through your graphics card controller. OBSE should not break your game. OBSE plugins can cause weird things to happen, however.

I've done all that already. Without OBSE any combination of AA and HDR works as it should. With OBSE, no matter how I enable AA (in-game with HDR and bloom off, or forced through Catalyst Control Center) it simply doesn't enable AA. OBSE SHOULD not break anything, but right now it does.

I tried disabling every plugin I have, which didn't help either.

so:

run oblivion.exe = AA

run obse_loader.exe = no AA

I had one OBSE plugin, OBGE, I disabled it and at first it didnt work. Then I tried making a CCC profile for obse_loader.exe again and through both of those things my game looks good again

thanks a bunch

I'm sure some of OBGE effects won't work with AA.

just a small conclusion on the problem;

i know the thread's old, but it was the first i came across when looking for this weird problem, so maybe others will too:

it is NOT the Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE) that causes AntiAliasing not to work, but the Oblivion Graphics Extender (OBGE)!

and there is a solution:
