dramamine213
So, I edited the wrong .ini file to change the text per the DarN instructions. I restore it back to it's original fonts and changed the right .ini. Well, now my whole Journal is in that handwritten cursive font and I can't find anywhere on the internet that gives me useful information about this issue. I've seen it before on the forums here, I think, and someone said to edit something in the .xml. I have no idea how to do that and I'm overwhelmed with Google's responses to editing .xml files. So I come to you guys and gals for help as I made an awesome Argonian and I don't want to redo her, but I'll be damned if I can play, much less read my Journal with this font. Please help! Thank you for your time. :)
Risenz
If DarN is anything similar to DarkUI DarN (which I have) you should be fine using notepad to edit the xml's (I'm not sure which one, sorry). Also, if you can reinstall it using OBMM if you have it as an OMOD, you could be able to change that font that way. (as I said I'm going by DarkUI DarN, so this might not be totally accurate) Hope i've been atleast a tiny bit helpful.

I'm just note understanding what I need to be changing. Sadly, it's not an .omod and I've already uninstalled/reinstalled everything for the game, but the damn font is still cursive. And it's got me down right furious.
Risenz
Ok, the first thing I want you to do is go and download Notepad++ for editing these .xml files. Also, could I just clarify, Do you have Darnified UI or Dark UI DarN? Hmm... new idea. Go make a backup of your oblivion.ini. Then, could you post the values you have for, under [menus] iconsolefont and idebugtextfont (i really freakin hope thats right, I've spent ages trying to work this out)

I appreciate your help, but I found some useful information on here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11280 I deleted all the files mentioned and reinstalled. I'm booting up now to see if that fixed my menus. Haha! Success! Now, all I have to figure out why it crashes when I exit. Which is weird, but it doesn't seem to cause any issues. *shrugs* Thank you so much for offering some support. Kudos to you, sir/ma'am!
Risenz
Aww... my masterplan didn't come together. :( Anyway, glad you managed to fix it, thanks for the kudos. As for your problems with crashing on exit, if you use obse, go into the src folder, move the obse folder (on its own) to oblivion\data if you haven't already. Inside the obse folder, create a plugins folder (if there isn't one already), download this: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22410 Put the dll file into your plugins folder, and you should be fine, no crashes :) Note: you will have to run it with the obse_loader.exe anyway. If you run with OblivionLauncher.exe the dll won't take effect at all.

lvlistress
I have a similar problem with an unusable font everywhere. What did you have to delete and reinstall exactly to fix this?
HeyYou
I have a similar problem with an unusable font everywhere. What did you have to delete and reinstall exactly to fix this? Using one of the UI mods commonly requires you to hand edit the oblivion.ini file, so that it uses the correct font. I used the OMOD version of DarkUIDarn, and it takes care of ini changes as part of the process. MUCH easier to deal with.
