Weird Graphical Bug

Downloaded a new armor set today and I have this glitch with it:

The armor is made up of a number of separate pieces and it's just the "ornament" piece that causes this. I know you may not be able to help me with this specific mod, but has anyone seen a glitch like this before and know what to do about it? I've tried reinstalling the mod and restating the game. No luck.

I've seen problems like that before. They're usually due to the armor/clothing not being properly rigged to the Player skeleton. Sometimes a bad texture will cause a similar glitch, but that usually draws the bad texture into the crosshair.

Some armors are properly rigged, only the skeleton does not have bones. For example, some of AlienSlof's robe parts are rigged to tail bone, and default human skeleton does not have tail bone. In that case she usually provides modified skeleton.nif(I think it's actually renamed beast race skeleton) in archive, so the robes can be used without 'stretching' problem if you installed modified skeleton as well.

If it is this case, do either to solve this problem(be sure it's not hardware problem nor broken meshes):

- Get modified skeleton, like Coronerra's Maximum Compatibility Skeleton.

- Or extract skeletonbeast.nif from Oblivion - Meshes.bsa, then copy it to \Data\Meshes\Characters\_male, rename it to skeleton.nif.

Thanks. I have a feeling its a mesh problem though. Screenshots I saw had non-beast races wearing it fine.

How would I fix the mesh?
