b2tharizzad
Is it possible to edit the New Vegas.esm asset values through FNVEdit? I know I have been able to edit other mod's esp files but never attempted with New Vegas.esm and can't seem to get it to work. What I am trying to accomplish is to change the ammo type on the Trail Carbine over to .357mag. This seems like something extremely easy but for some reason, I'm having trouble editng the esm. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
M48A5
You cannot edit a master file with FNVEdit or with the G.E.C.K. If you could, there would not be any reason to have .esp files.

Gribbleshnibit8
What you can do is right click on the weapon and select "Copy as override". A window will pop up asking you which file to copy it into, with an option for "<new file>". Select that option and it will create an empty plugin that has a copy of the record in it, and you can edit the copy.
b2tharizzad
Thank you for the info! I did the steps you provided and was able to make my own ESP with the desired fix. I know this is something simple to the casual modder but it is a big deal for me. Thank you again.
