I don't know what i may have pressed but not the zoom doesn't work, not even the V key one. Anyone know whats going on?

I'm wondering if it's my mouse, but it works on everything else, I've tested it. Maybe I've disabled zooming or something, I don't know, but any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

I'd blame it on the GECK! :whistling: For as wonderful as it is, it's extremely glitchy! :wallbash: I have a similar problem which I have yet to solve, I can't rotate anything in the object editing pallets or, preview windows.

I would try uninstalling it and, doing a clean reinstall, make sure you remove the GECK .ini's from your Documents\mygames folder. This didn't solve my issue but, it's the only solution I've come up with. Granted, I'm a Mac guy learning windows, for me this is like, "Standing on one hand, trying to read Spanish in a mirror, while blindfolded."

That being said, I've had other GECK issues that a clean reinstall has fixed.

hope this helps,

chuck

Yeh, I guess that is really the only thing I could do. Just don't know what the problem is, it's even weirder that if i go into orthographic view, it works fine. And to be honest. I would have just stayed mac if I were you, I'm starting to come round to their advantages more than windows. Just to bad that I don't own a mac or macbook.

Another though, is if it is that you have just hit some key that toggles scrolling try just deleting the GECKsettings.ini. When you relaunch the GECK it will rebuild it with the default settings.

I had to do this once when my kitten walked on my keyboard and mashed every random key causing me issues.

Sorry I didn't think about this last night.

Right I really think my entire fallout is broken, I don't have a GECKsettings.ini and I've never been able to find mesh files or texture files or anything that there is in the GECK. I can't find any file within my fallout 3 data folder. I searched my entire PC and theres no GECKsettings.ini either :(

on my vista machine the .ini's live in Documents/ mygames / Fallout 3. you may also have to toggle the show hidden file in your control panels.

edit: the mesh and textures are in Fallout 3 / Data / Fallout-Meshes.bsa and Fallout-Textures.bsa. You'll need to unpack them with FOMM to customize them.

Ahh I have vista too and I looked in that folder but they're under different names I have a GECKCustom.ini and a GECKPrefs.ini, I'll back up both and then delete them thank you for telling me about meshes and textures I've been wondering this for an un reasonable amount of time haha, Thanks!
