Fallout 3 Wanderers Edition, Windows 7 64 bit. Not working. :(

I just installed Fallout 3 and Wanderers edition. It's the only mod I have in my list and whenever I start up Fallout 3 it says "this program has stopped working and has had to be shutdown"

 

It worked absolutely fine (To the degree fallout 3 works at...cough) on Windows Vista now it's just a no go.

 

Is there any way at all to fix this? I'd really love to play it :P

Reading around the Internet it's apparently a problem with Windows 7 64 bit.

 

By having FWE as my only mod installed, I meant FWE and all of it's components, I didn't install it wrong.

we can safely assume that your only possible course of action

 

is to upgrade to Windows XP

 

 

 

 

FWIW there exists at least 1 automatic installer for a large mod that won't work in 64 bits, but if you use the manual installer --- everything's fine. You could consider that, or upgrading your OS.

Lol, even vanilla Fallout 3 won't work after reinstalling it. Quite odd, I know the game was developed before Windows 7 came out but surely Bethesda would have created a patch or something?

because companies don't make patches unless compelled by law

 

however, the game is known to run on Win7 providing the hardware meets minimum requirements

Alright awesome! Progress!

 

Turns out is was FW:E after all.

 

I disabled it and ran Fallout 3, worked perfectly fine. Installed FOSE, FOMOD and FW:E and it's now crashing as it starts up.

 

As much as your super awesome "lol use windows xp" goes, thanks so much, you helped immensely. I also see how much you help other people on the forums using your amazing wisdom, you truly are a king among men.

Problem numero uno) Trolls and assholes on forums who think windows XP is the dogs *censored*

Problem numero 2no) FW:E is now crashing my Fallout 3. I'm thinking it make be a problem with windows 64 bit as someone else sounds like they're having the same problem possibly.
