kieranfoy
PLEASE: If this interests you, comment to keep the thread alive. Let me know if you have any other ideas.Hi, all. I was wondering if anyone wanted to make this fascinating little sword for me. First, take the Dark Longsword from Shivering Isles. Remove the blade and crossgaurd, cut it off right above the first silver ring. Please lengthen the hilt by adding two copies of the first silver ring on top of it, thus tripling the size of the ring. Simple, eh? Then, stick on to it the blade from the Ebony Blade retextured with the same texture as the Dark Sword. Then, remove the gloss from the texure (thus creating a new tetxture, don't change the default), so that it's matte. Then, add this symbol to the ricasso right above the hilt, taking care to make sure it's high-rez and clear: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/d/d7/DarkEldar.png NotE: Make sure the hilt and blade are curving opposite directions, and rotate the sword so that the curve of the hilt fits naturally in the hand. Look at this picture: http://www.georgehernandez.com/h/xMartialArts/Media/Swords/scimitar.jpg to get the idea. Note how the blade and hilt curve in opposite directions, and how the hilt fits into the hand. Thank you kindly! Ciao!
ub3rman123
I wanna do it! Another sword sounds like fun; I am eager to practice this new Blender ability. Don't expect anything today, I had some great new ideas for a Bag of Holding.
ub3rman123
What do you mean by tripling the size of the ring? Like, in circumference or in length? And ebony.. You mean the Daedric Artifact, not the classification?
kieranfoy
I meant in length, sorry. Bit vague, I know. And, yea, Ebony blade is EXACTLY what I mean, although now that I think about it, the blade of the Elven Shortsword would look better, wouldn't it? Maybe made a bit longer... Anyway, been meaning to thank you for taking it it, but things got a wee bit hectic and I sort of forgot. Sorry.
ub3rman123
You're sure? Shortsword, not longsword? I've made the handle so far, and flipped it around. No more work today, though. I've reached the point where I turn off all the program and watch old A-Team reruns.
kieranfoy
Yeah. You see, the Elven shortsword has a curved blade, which looks better. The longsword has this wierd big blade. If you could find a way to lengthen the blade, though... Yeah, I understand. You just gotta take a breather and watch reruns. Recharge the brain. I find a good cuppa helps, too. ub3rman123
Oh yeah, now I remember. I was thinking of the shortsword. Thought the longsword had that curve, and the claymore looked weird. I can lengthen it some, yeah.
ub3rman123
Do you want to keep the scabbard or take it off?
kieranfoy
You mean the Elven scabbard? Oh, do take it off. Those scabbards are aweful, simply aweful. I mean, honestly, they're huge, cludgy things!
ub3rman123
Where's the ricasso on the Elven shortsword blade? All I see is that odd-looking tendril sticking into it.
