SunderedChaos
This is only the case for one of my characters. I loaded another character up and I could enter with no problem. For some reason though, every time I enter with my main character, the game crashes. I haven't even downloaded anything that's Bruma specific. In fact, through this entire playthrough, Bruma has probably been the most unremarkable and least visited of every town in the game. I'm hoping this isn't the beginning of save game corruption. I do have Major's Marihuana Mod, and he did warn against going crazy with planting your own seeds, but I only planted 3. That is hardly what I would consider going crazy. Anyway, is there anything I could do in terms of atleast finding out what it would take to fix Bruma for that character? Is there some kind of utility or something? Edit: and yes, I have tried deactivating that marijuana mod. However, seeing as how it is only conjecture that particular mod might be the problem, and I am using 90+ mods, it's a little difficult. Also, I wonder how exactly mod related this is, seeing as how it is only broken for one particular character.
kieranfoy
A question: Are you past the point in the Main Quest where you get your statue, and did you change your race since the statue appeared? Because doing a Michael Jackson after the statue is set will cause your game to crash when entering Bruma.

I'm already past when Martin goes all akatosh on Daegon. And yes, I get tired of things fairly quickly, so I change my characters hair pretty often. I've never changed her race though, only her hair. I don't know if that matters or not. if that is the problem, is there any way to fix it? Do you know if setting your quest stage to a point before the statue is built would fix it? SunderedChaos
It's alright, I figured out how to fix it. Even though you didn't point this out to me, without your help, I wouldn't have known what to look for. I wasn't even aware that any statue had been built in the first place. But ya, I just installed this mod, followed its instructions, and now I can enter Bruma just fine.
kieranfoy
Well, I was going to link once you'd responded, but I missed your post because I had to clip the dog's claws. Anyway, you're welcome. Thanks for the kudos.

Kheldor
Amazingly, this has just happened to me as well. My character has finished all the guild quests as well as the main quest, but, she's a vampire (via "Unholy Darkness"). I otherwise haven't changed anything about the character. Is there any way to fix it?
bben46
There is a condition that causes a crash on entering Bruma, and only Bruma. If you are past the point in the main quest where you save Bruma, they city erects a statue of you as their savior. The game uses whatever race and gear you have on at the time you complete that quest to make the statue. If you change your race - (not sure about vampire, but I suspect that may cause it also) then your character no longer matches the statue and for some reason it crashes. See the previous post for the mod that fixes this.
