Deseoso
Firstly what does ENB stand for? I am not new to modding my game but I have just returned to Skyrim after a very long break. I can't remember what an ENB is but I see lots of mods using the abbreviation so I want to know so I can determine, A. if I am already using one, B. If not, should I be? and C. how it will affect my game. I do already have 125 plugins running, surprisingly well I might add. God I love my new machine!! esuriddick
Regarding what it means, I can't answer you, since personally I don't know. What it does is that it is basically a graphic mod. It tweaks colours and such. It requires a good PC to use one though, since they tend to be quite performance-intensive on a PC. You shouldn't have two ENBs at the same time though (two mods tweaking graphics at the same time might give you some unfortunate results).
RS13
If all you've done is install mods via NMM or MO, then you don't have one. If you're still unsure open up your Skyrim directory (where the .exe is) and look for files like enbseries.ini or enblocal.ini. Nobody knows what enb stands for, it was developed by a native Russian speaker and I think its an abbreviation for something in Russian. (I don't think he's told anyone either. But trust me, you're not going to find anyone who knows.) You should be using ENB at least for the Memory Patch capabilities and togglable fps counter that is built in). You should use the graphics overhaul only if your machine can handle it. (You can turn the graphics off in game, so there's no drawback to trying one out.) Gopher has a video on this: If you want to try out multiple ENBs in rapid succession, familiarize yourself with the ENB Manager and Changer. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24402/? Deseoso
Thanks for the advice. Now it is all coming back to me. I never tried any ENBs last time I played as I was running a dual core machine with the bare minimum memory and a basic graphics card. I have returned to Skyrim now as my new machine is an absolute beast of a gaming PC so I will definitely be looking into trying a few out now. Thanks again.
