Vagrant0
I dont think using FO3 meshes and textures is illegal, where did you hear that kieranfoy?Sorry, but yes, it is illegal to port meshes, or any resource for that mater from one game into the other, regardless of direction, or if the same company made the game. This is because usually the game companies only own rights to those resources, or the various bits that went into creating those resources for the distribution of a single title. It's complicated legal stuff, and there are some exceptions for certain games and certain companies, but the skinny is that in this case, using resources from FO3 in any other game is illegal, and if used in a mod, would mean that that mod is also illegal, and therefore would not only be available to be hosted on any of these mod sites, but would also probably mean that the majority of the actual work that went into the mod would go to waste as soon as Bethsoft gets wind of it and decides to have their legal department send you letters. Frankly, using another game's resources is almost the most sure-fire way to ruin a project for its entirety. One need look no further than Morroblivion for an example of that. They started out using all ripped and converted resources, have been labeled, have since then been busy re-making those models from scratch, but will always be suspect and will never be allowed to be hosted on any mod site simply because of their run with borrowed resources. ub3rman123
Indeed, build it in Fallout 3 and save yourself some pain. You could probably even build it like it is in the game, have your vertibird crash over the ocean on a trip to somewhere, and find the Lighthouse.
