Gimplekin Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 hey, i'm trying to find out how to remove all the data that goes with a mod in addition to uninstalling said mod. i started having issues with a mod called harvest in which it stopped working. so i eventually decided to try reinstalling it. but every time i uninstall and then install new with the NMM all my settings are still there in the game when i boot it up. so obviously it ISN'T being completely uninstalled. i've searched through my computer but as far as i can see it's gone when i uninstall it in NMM. anyone able to point me in the direction of what i'm missing? i should point out that i uninstalled it in NMM, then deleted it from NMM. the directory seems to be deleted from the list of mods. then redownloaded the mod and installed anew from the nexus site. i don't even know if this will fix the mod or not, but uninstalling and reinstalling through NMM isn't fixing the mod so i want to give this a try.
KiwiHawkNZ Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 It'll have some of that mod data in your save file for that char and will take game time to save out, 3 day I think it is
StackEmHigh Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Hi Gimplekin, I hope you're doing fine. Another alternative you could try is to open up the archive (the zipped file that you download manually) somewhere - your desktop, or in a temporary folder. Look at the files in that archive (once you've un-zipped it). Find them (track them down) in your Skyrim Root Directory (where the .exe file is located), or somewhere in your Skyrim \ Data directory. Not sure exactly where they'd be because each mod is different. But if you take a look at the un-zipped mod somewhere you can most likely remove it manually - could take some time though. Something I recommend doing (if you're new to modding and want to really get your hands dirty) is this - when you first install the game (before installing ANY mods), make a backup of your Skyrim directory. This way, if you mess things up - and you most likely will (no offense - been there) - you can easily erase your root directory and copy / paste your backup to go back to square one without having to re-install the game itself, which takes awhile. I'm no pro, but I hope this helps! So many people have helped me here that I decided to try to help others when I can. Take care, talk any time, and have a great day. Sincerely, StackEmHigh
