RPGGriffin
Every time I want to brew potions/poisons, I have to retrieve the ingrediants from my storage container, craft my item(s), and return everything to my storage bin. (Keeping everything in my invetory is NOT an option, considering the weight of it all). This is a giant hassle just to brew a single potion.I want the alchemy lab to be linked to a nearby container INSTEAD of my inventory. As a basic mod, this would probably mean that the lab would cease being able to access my inventory at all, and that's just fine.Ideally, only the alchemy labs in the Hearthfire homesteads would be affected, and only the ones in the north towers. Not only would this be an awesome, and non game-breaking feature, but it would ALSO make it so that those towers have an extended use beyond the lab that all the homes have. (A similar system could be rigged for the Enchating Tower, where a container stores your gems and enchantables. Imagine being able to fill a cabinet with amulets, rings, armor and weapons, to be enchanted at your leisure!). I downloaded the Creation Kit, but I have NO idea where to begin making such a mod. I think it might require a script? ... Or something? The mod iteslf is probably very simple, but it's still beyond my skills. You would also need to make it so that crafting the table ALSO generates whatever container it's now linked to, which would probably be a satchel on the table itself. DrNewcenstein
There are a few mods that implement this feature, I believe. Not sure if there is a standalone "that's all it does" mod, but I do know Aemer's Refuge had this feature. While handy, it was also slightly annoying when you had open quests like "bring 5 ice wraith teeth to whatserface" and you only had 3 - every time you accessed the alchemy table, you were given the items and a prompt to gather more. When you left, they were removed and you were given the prompt to gather them. It is a nice concept, but from what I've seen the implementation leaves something to be desired. I've found it's best to just take what ingredients you need for a given potion and focus on that rather than carrying around a ton of everything. RPGGriffin
Wow, Aemer's Refuge looks pretty impressive, but does WAY more than I'm interested in. Combining all the player homes together is neat idea, though. In any event, I don't want to make drastic changes to the vanilla game, I just want to simplify a single task.I already get the "5 wraith teeth, 10 fire salts" thing every time I muck about with my ingrediants, so that's not going to change any.Grabbing -only- what I need from storage is annoying, because I don't memorize recipes, and would prefer to not have to look them up every time I want to make a Potion of Steroids or whatever. notmyhome
Jaxonz Crafting Helper sounds like it gets the job done. Haven't tested it myself though.
RPGGriffin
Hmm, thanks notmyhome. That mod would technically help solve the problem. Of course, if I'm going to load everything into my inventory, and then return it, I would probably be better served with a utility that adds a "store all" option to my inventory window that I could use ALL the time, instead of just for crafting. I think I saw one of those around here ... somewhere.
