WastelanderRando
Hello, I'd like to say sorry in advance if this is a stupid question with an easy answer, however I am new to modding so I'm not really sure what's going on here. I know that if you're missing a mesh, in-game you should see a exclamation point on a red square. However, I'm not seeing that exclamation point, yet I can't seem to find half the meshes I want to edit in Blender. For instance I wanted to make an armor using the Ranger Combat Armor, however, when I go to Program Files(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Fallout New Vegas/Data/meshes/armor/combatranger there should be:combatranger_m.nifcombatranger_f.nifand combatranger_go.nifHowever there is only combatranger_f.nif in that folder. I'd know if the game was missing these meshes because like I said there'd be a exclamation point on male rangers in-game. What I'd like to know is where the game is hiding half of my meshes because I've checked other folders and it's a very similar situation for almost all of the mesh folders. I have quite a few mods but I don't think any of them would change file paths for meshes, if anyone thinks that's the problem let me know. Thanks for whoever takes the time to help me out. M48A5
The only mesh files that will appear in the meshes folder will be items that are added by a mod, as long as they are not packed as a BSA. Otherwise, they will be in the meshes.bsa folder. If the mod only retextures the armor, there will not be a mesh file.
drithius
To add to that, you'll need to use FOMM to view and unpack any of the BSA's contents (which you can then edit freely).
