CLouDxL
I would be very grateful to anyone that could help me with my problemI was playin oblivion at pc for some time now,i have installed many mods and things like that.Suddenly yesterday onlivion crashed,i thought it was just a random crash, but it started crashing like every 1-2 hours of gameplay! Its really annoying !lolExcept from crashing sometimes its freezing too.I dont think its caused from the last mod that i have installed cause that mod is just a mod for the 3rd person camera(maybe any mods around that could do something about the crashing problem?) Thanks in advance...i really need some help guys, please if u know anything, let me know... :D
ub3rman123
Try uninstalling the last mod you added, see if that solves it.

zany chimp
Hey im having the same problem! I think it's related to the scripts... Are you using oblivion script extender? And are you using Windows? I think windows doesn't like OBSE. It really is annoying, but as there's nothing I know of to fix it, I just quicksave a lot!
Eiries
Because your situation is extremely vague, it could be a countless number of things, from mod conflicts all the way to hardware. If you don't use OBSE yet, here's a reason for you to start: WEOCPS Helped me out more than a few times.

Megatarius
You can easily uninstall a mod that overwrites files. Because it actually doesn't. Let's say you installed a body replacer mod. The files are upperbody.nif, lowerbody.nif, etc. Those files, in their exact folder location, are inside the meshes.bsa file. All that happens when you "overwrite" these files is you install them in your Data folder with the same folder structure. Then the game looks at them instead of the regular ones that are safely inside the bsa. Delete your new files and you have restored the originals. @Zany Chimp: Windows likes OBSE just fine. I use it, and I'm running Windows 7. What other program would I be using? Mac OS doesn't run the game, and it's only possible to run it on Linux with WINE (I think), and this guy probably isn't doing that.
CLouDxL
thanks for the info megatarius, but i think the problem is with obse to be honest, those crashes have started since i have started using mods that require obse,so it must be something wrong with obse running on vista....damn i need to find a solution on this ,the game is becoming unplayable...i love that game!!! yeldarb
You will want to install Oblivion outside of Program Files and UAC. I use C:Games\Oblivion. You might be able to manually swap your Oblivion\Data to the new folder by disconnecting from the internet, turning off UAC and manually changing the location and the paths your desktop launch icons use. Test run Oblivion to make sure it has been done correctly. Turn on UAC and retest.Remember to change the path 7-zip/J-zip uses when you install a new mod. zany chimp
@ Megatarius: i have windows XP, and my system is rather unstable to begin with... maybe it's my hardware? I barely meet the minimum system requirements for Oblivion as it is! As for other systems, I've heard that there is a program for mac that tricks the game into thinking it's a windows. On a side note, I just lost the game.
