JustynThyme
Hello all. I am new to modding. I actually just bought FO3 on PC (GotY Edition, before which I didn't have access to the DLC), so I didn't have an opportunity to mod FO3 before that (I played it on PS3). The closest I have come to modding was creating a room to alter characters in NWN. I called it The Loading Program, since it operated just like the one in Matrix. Since that wasn't attached to the game, I didn't consider it a mod (even though I could save my character and import it and all items acquired from TLP into NWN proper). Anyway, my interest isn't in creating quests, or spaces, but with creating items, customizing items, and customizing spaces. I did enough work with the Vault 74 tutorial to become familiar enough with GECK for my purposes. I only had one problem with V74. The Teleport Marker inside V74 would NOT move. I couldn't rotate it, nor could I move it along the grid. It was placed in orientation to the door object, so what I ended up doing was moving the door object to where I wanted the TP Marker, and rotated the door object to face the direction I wanted the TP Marker to face, and then linked the doors. A work around rather than solving whatever the root issue was, but I'll take it. I did a brief search on the forums for anyone having the same problem, before deciding to try the work around I came up with - a very brief search - and didn't find anything. Since it wasn't a problem in-line with my modding designs, I didn't open a thread about it. My plan is to make or alter a few weapons, and to adapt Miss Sparkle's teleport entrance to her Clep Home to Rayek's Mini Hideout. Once I get that to work, I want to tinker with adding site-to-site teleportation to the device that will allow teleportation access to the Mini Hideout. Eventually, I want to create my own living space, but I might not ever get to that as just having a place is good enough, and New Vegas will be calling by time I finally finish uncovering all I can find in FO3. One other item I want to make is a set of glasses (several styles, all doing the same thing) that you can toggle various effects on and off in-game, using a PipBoy menu. The glasses will be able to give boosts to SPECIAL stats, boosts to skills, and act as armor (likely in the form of a force field effect). The reason for the armor is so it can be used with body replacer mods to provide armor, so you can wear whatever you want and enjoy the view. :) The reason for the SPEACIAL and skill boosts is for those who want them, but might not want to deal with console commands. And the reason for being able to toggle them all off or on is versatility and appeal to a wider range of users. :) Anyway, I'm glad I can be here, and I hope I can contribute a couple of meager mods before New Vegas arrives. :)
ub3rman123
To move a teleport marker, make sure you have the reference pane for the door closed. Other, than that, good luck on your modding and many to come!
