POST, people. Please. If you like the idea, or even like me, post, and keep this idea alive.

Hi, guys.

Well, anyway, more Warhammer. Given that I've got some sort of thing for robes, it's bloody silly that I've neglected to ask for this before, so I'm going to ask for it now, I am!

My character is Archmage, and needs a robe that suits the station. My character is also a worshippper of Tzeentch, which makes sense, and suggested this robe:

First, take the Mythic Dawn robes mesh (Using the UFF female version) and the robe hood. Then take the texture from the Archmage's robe, and make the golden bits bright metallic silver.

Then, retexture the blue bits to a deep, royal blue. Maybe one of these: http://webtreats.mysitemyway.com/free-tileable-leather-patterns./ could be recolored blue?

Then, add these runes to the sleeves, hem, and hood of the robe, in any color you like: http://fc03.devianta...by_KarmaBoo.jpg

Then, add this symbol to the chest with a glowmap applied so that it glows blue in the dark: http://images2.wikia...eentch_icon.jpg

And then add this symbol to the back: http://images4.wikia...isc_concept.jpg preferrably with the bird's eyes glowmapped as well.

And that's all I can think of. Ciao!

I can do it, but don't expect much soon. I've got to get this Colored Rooms stuff done some time.

If I do make it, want the runes to glow as well?

Also: Man, he doesn't need any monikers other than the Lord of Change. Also, thank you for a non-Slaanesh request. I did lose sleep over that four-pack idea.

Actually, I can do it, if you don't have the time at the moment. I'm don't have much going on tonight.

You are on the Colored Rooms project, eh? Glad to hear that it's attracting talented people.

Not much at the moment, but an example of the blue leather texture.

EDIT: Wow, there's really not a font file somewhere on the internet for these runes?

@Uberman: Yeah, I love Tzeentch more than Slaanesh. Da dude's awesome. Congrats on joining the Colored Rooms project. Figured it was almost dead, but you'll do well there. They'll give you shizz to play around with.

@Zprospero: *Jawdrop* Raven Lord preserve me, but if that's what you call just getting started, then...

Well, then you keep on going, man!

Thank you, thank you, thank YOU!!!

@Everyone: Seriously, Barak Obama is an avatar of Tzeentch. 'Hope and Change,' yuh? Dude gets awesomner every day.

With the runes (I think I may have made them a bit large):

A bit fanciful, but I tried to make the represent the Mage's Guild quest.

They go:

Harathoi (Youth) - For when you started the quest you were a young apprentice

Cython(Wisdom,Futility) - For the wisdom you gained, and the futility of the efforts of those who attempted to prevent you.

Cynath(Chill,Death,Silence,Loneliness) - For you went alone among the living dead and ended them.

Ceyl(Law,Order,Justice,Passion) - For you brought justice to the traitorous, and reaffirmed the authority of the Guild.

Caladai(Dragons,Lordship) - For you became lord of the Guild and command the highest of Magicks.

EDIT:

Placing the emblem on the chest is a little difficult with the neck decoration, but what do you think of this?

It's subtle, I think. Sadly, my monitors are acting very strange and it's screwing up my ability to screen-print, so I might not be able to show you anymore tonight. Oh, and I made the runes smaller.

Zprospero, how did you manage to put the leather texture on there and keep the silver lining bits?

Layers, my friend, layers.

You can't have enough of them

Garn, Z! That'a gorgeous work. I mean, it's beautiful! Simply beautiful!

I love it. and the symbolism? I love that, too! It's simply wonderful; shows the level of thought you put into these things. And the runes are JUST the right size!

@L33: Z is thone one to ask about textures, he really is. He knows, man. He knows everything. Just look at all the stuff he's done. You want good? He got good!

Glad you like it, Kieran.

@ub3rman123 and TodaY

Layers and a bit of cheating.

Here's a tutorial I created for someone else.

First load up the texture you want:

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep001.jpg

Then use the 'Free Select Tool' to outline the main part that you want to change:

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep002.jpg

Go to Layer > Transparency > Color to Alpha

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep003.jpg

Select the main color of the robe to be removed

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep004.jpg

Cut to the clipboard what remains.

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep005.jpg

This will leave you with a blank workspace.

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep006.jpg

Fill the spaces with whatever patterns/colors you like (layering patterns by the use of opacity is something I do a lot).

This is when if you have a really good pattern you don't have much work to do. I used a 'coffee beans' texture here

so it would deliberately look ridiculous.

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep007.jpg

Now, paste the original 'Color to Alpha'-ed texture over the custom texture.

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep008.jpg

Then, go to Colors > Desaturate and choose 'Luminosity' as it will preserve the most shadows.

(Or, you can recolor it with the 'Hue-Saturation' tool as I did on the robe in this thread to make

the black leather appear blue.)

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep009.jpg

And you're done! You've created a custom robe texture without sacrificing any of the details of the original vanilla texture.

It can even make rather coffee bean textures look kind of acceptable, as you can see in the final result here:

http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/RClothStep010.jpg

Hope that helps!

I think I've got it.

What do you think of this?

Back

Back - Glowmap

Front - Glowmap

A full-power Fingers of the Mountain spell cast by the Arch-Mage of the Mages Guild may be more than you need to kill a bandit, but you look awesome when you fry him.

And I have included a bonus item (if you want it):
